I have a deep interest in both Rock n Roll and progressive politics. I'm currently writing a book about Rock n Roll ideology (see my web site), so I figured I'd bring the two together in a new on-line persona, the Rock n Roll Blogger.

Another musical voice takes a stand!

I have never before heard of the band "Fall Out Boy", and I don't think I've caught any of their music.  I'm going to check them out, however, and hope that even if theirs is a "boy group" sound as their name and image suggest, I can talk myself into purchasing or at least downloading something of theirs.  They deserve our support and our salute for standing up for basic rights and talking smack back to a wingnut mother who called their concert a "liberal homosexual rally".
Read about it on Side B.

Talkin' 'bout a Revolution? Sounds like a whisper.

Where's the Goddamn protest music, when we need it most?

::

You say you want a Revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me it's the institution
Well you know
We all want to change the world

-- The Beatles

::

Say you want a revolution?
We better get on right away
Well you get on your feet
And out on the street
Singing "Power to the People!"

-- John Lennon
