New Temporary Political Party

Here is the platform:

To bring to a stop all social wedge issues that currently distract the American people. No pro or con legislation written nor debated by our national Senators and Reps. (if they would bother, it would be nice to quickly make it illegal to spy without notice) and insist that they work to accomplish the following two goals.

The Two Goals

We must, on a national level, fix 2 huge problems, 1) protecting our lands and atmosphere as much as possible and implement a non-military system to rescue victims of further hurricanes, large violent attacks and contagions, 2) stop the deaths of our soldiers, contract workers, and the deaths of so-called “collateral damage victims” by badly planned foreign policy.

August and Everything After

"The Department of Justice has instructed the Senate Ethics Committee to steer clear of any investigations into actions involving ex-lobbyist Jack Abramoff, warning the panel it has “concerns” that any such probes could interfere with its long-running investigation."

Gore Vidal's history lesson

Sat Jan 28, 2006 at 03:13:24 PM PDT

"We have also come to a point in this dark age where there is not only no hero in view but no alternative road unblocked." President Jonah, by Gore Vidal

I woke up this morning thinking of Kerry's bravery and why we seem not to have one without a lot of bagage (i know this is debateable, but...) in the eyes of normal corp/MSM/big media consumers, like Kennedy, Clinton, Gore, Dean, Kerry. I think we know the reasons for this.

I could swear that the afternoon I found out about Wellstone's death, the radio was on and I was still half asleep, napping or just getting up... and the tease/list of up coming stories said, "US Senator dies in plane crash, more in a moment" I think I thought to myself, Oh god, not Wellstone! Then the story confirmed my worst fear. I may be remembering that more dramaticly but that's how I think of that day.

Then I found this great artical by Gore Vidal, it's a must read.

"Wimp!" ...Oh no you didn't!

Seeing the wonderful pictures today of the kids in Georgetown made me reflect if I had ever done anything gutsy. Then I read an artical over at DU about the "BFEE"

http://www.democraticunderground.com/...

That made me remember an incident, it happened at my first apartment, it was a second story flat over a store. There was some sort of parade going on...my memory is fuzzy. All I remember was that George the First (VP at the time and running for the nom) and Barbar walking on the road right under my windows and feeling a bit shocked at seeing them in the flesh.

As my friends and I were gawking through the 3 open windows, watching the VP (and his bodyguards) walk by waving at everyone. George looked right up at us and waved, then as he turned away my friend yelled "WIMP!" very, very loud. Bar turned to find where it came from and looked right at me and shot a dirty look, I ducked down as fast as I could.

Not knowing much about politics then, I got pissed off at my friend, but everyone else was rolling around on the floor laughing at the stunt.
