DailyKos shack, that's where it's at
People let me tell you about a place I know
To get in it don't take much dough
Where you can really do your thing, oh yeah
It's got a neon sign outside that says
Come in and take a look at your mind
You'd be surprised what you might find, yeah

I got a big postcard from the RNC yesterday. I don't have a scanner and did not find it on the web and so I will describe it below the fold for those interested.

Dick Wadhams is a Salope and Putain
Fri Aug 25, 2006 at 01:06:56 AM PDT
http://www.nytimes.com/...
says that Allen apologizes where he had no idea that the young man was offended.
"In the long term, Senator Allen will be re-elected," said Dick Wadhams, his campaign manager. "And that is the only thing that matters."
That is another way of Dick saying fuck all the Democrats and people concerned about bigotry and intolerance.
Why Iran?

This got too big for a comment in open thread and so I will throw this rant in a diary.

Consensus
Mon Jun 26, 2006 at 11:21:52 PM PDT
Some here apparently want a concensus that all Democrats should have a consensus about something.
Space Ship Earth rant

This is a simple yet extremely challenging concept and it may require you and I and the Democratic Party to re-examine our values and priorities and goals.

Endgame and ICE. You should know those words
Thu Jun 01, 2006 at 12:26:40 AM PDT
I had heard about Halliburton building detainee centers across the USA that each can hold about 5,000 folks. I wondered what that was all about and I discovered Endgame and ICE.
The old INS, Immigration and Naturalization Service, is now a part of the Department of Homeland Security and has been renamed as ICE, Immigration and Customs Enforcement. I guess Naturalization is no longer a priority among Bush and the other blankity-blank-blank elite.
Endgame is a project from ODR, the Office of Detention and Removal, a sub-agency of ICE, to "remove all removable aliens" by 2012. ODR will start with trying to locate and remove 590,000 that have ignored deportation orders and also 630,000 'criminal aliens'. (Where criminal aliens include actual criminals or they have only been accused or they were guilty of crimes that are usually handled by fines rather than imprisonment.)
Many of these people have families and jobs and are honest and we are excluding them as if they were not humans.

Mon May 08, 2006 at 09:02:41 PM PDT
All I have to do is just replace the words 'Iraq' and 'Saddam Hussein' with 'Iran' and 'Mahmoud Ahmadinejad' in your 2003 Iraq war speech and we are all set to go.

Ugh, the picture the whitehouse chose for there.

Health Insurance Companies are Goliaths.
Mon Apr 10, 2006 at 11:53:02 PM PDT
http://money.cnn.com/...
has a list of the top 12 health insurance companies in America for 2005 and the top company had a profit of 3.3 Billion with the top 5 bringing home the bacon with over 9.5 Billion dollars of profit and that is a lot of bacon.
Could we find and elect enough Davids to bring down these Goliaths? Not without convincing people that capitalism is good but it should not rule the health care industry. We should pay doctors in hospitals to provide services the exact same way that we pay judges and lawyers to provide services in court houses.
Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld
Sun Apr 09, 2006 at 02:00:44 AM PDT
thinks The United States is faring poorly in its effort to counter ideological support for terrorism, in part because the government does not communicate effectively, Rumsfeld said in response to a question from a member of his audience at the Army War College.
Right Winger admits racism still exists
Tue Apr 04, 2006 at 12:01:15 AM PDT
in a troll diary over in redstate by Leon H Wolf
http://www.redstate.com/...
Leon makes the ludicrous assertion that the liberals and progressives who have fought and struggled and died to expand the distribution of civil rights in America are actually racists who attempt to spin reality by calling the nice right-wing folks racists.

about demanding that Judge Scalia recuse himself from the upcoming consideration of how America behaves towards people held in captivity by the United States?
http://jurist.law.pitt.edu/...
Judge Scalia has certainly prejudged the case and made public statements of how he will decide before he has heard any oral arguments.
Judge Scalia says War is war and if so then why doesn't he demand that all the detainees should be covered by the USA membership in the Geneva Convention?
Judge Scalia has a son who is part of the Iraq Occupation Forces and so his ability to be objective about applying the rule of law certainly might be impaired.
Recuse thyself Judge Scalia!
