Republican Bill would ban anonymous Web comments
Wed Mar 05, 2008 at 01:11:37 PM PDT
Republicans in the state of Kentucky are still feeling the heat from the scalding they received from Kentucky Democratic Blogs and whistleblowers, which helped to bring down a corrupt republican governor.
This is their answer.
Hillary Clinton Gets Some Unlikely Support
Tue Feb 05, 2008 at 01:48:58 PM PDT
An unrepentant Limbaugh/Hannity Republican, whom I have worked with for years, has informed me that he plans to vote for Hillary Clinton in the general election- because she’s more conservative than John McCain.
He was serious.
Threat against Obama? Intel site speculates
Tue Jan 08, 2008 at 06:27:34 PM PDT
There are a legion of websites on the net that claim to keep up with the Intelligence world; but one in particular wonders out loud at the unusual amount of Secret Service protection surrounding Barak Obama.
What do they know that we don’t?
Want a good laugh? The Internet is THIS crazy...

It's been pointed out to me that this has been posted already- please disregard.

My wife reads Hollywood gossip just for the humor of it, but when I saw this article looking over her shoulder I almost spewed the monitor with coffee...
According to these folks, Trent Lott is resigning because he's Gay.
Too funny; too stupid; too silly (you fill in the blank) not to share.
Official: Global Warming is Fake, Chicken Little.
Thu Nov 15, 2007 at 08:55:48 AM PDT
Well that's the official view of Representative Jim Gooch, a Kentucky State Legislator who used his positon as Chairman of the interim joint Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee to hold a government hearing on the topic where he-
A. Refused to invite any scientist who warns of Global Warming
B. Only invited those who claim Global Warming in junk science.
Pardon me while I gag... more after the jump.

RNC Chairman Loses Home County to Democratic Win
Wed Nov 07, 2007 at 08:31:36 AM PDT
How come no one else has noticed this?
RNC Chairman Mike Duncan couldn't even win his own county for an incumbent republican governor.
In Kentucky.
Think about that.
Pelosi Promised Apology to Boehner?
Tue Oct 23, 2007 at 12:58:55 PM PDT
You know, ugly rumors these days have a way of tunring out to be true. Well here's a doozey- Pelosi and the House leaders threw Stark under the bus and forced him to apologize.
Apologize or the censure passes- nice friends, huh?
Military Leadership Act: the Draft We Really Need
Fri Aug 31, 2007 at 11:31:48 AM PDT
Amendment to the Constitution
Military Leadership Act
George Bush; Dan Quayle; Dick Cheney and John Ashcroft just to name a few; the gallery of privileged individuals who avoided combat by virtue of personal influence is as infamous as it is long; but now the increasing cavalier polices of the United States threatens to destroy one of the finest military organizations in the History of the world, ultimately putting our entire nation at peril.
There is a solution- but the ‘politics as usual’ crowd isn’t going to like it. Simply put we need a permanent Draft amendment; but a Draft so specific that military adventurism will no longer be a pain-free option for those who are elected to lead. A Draft that requires the Legislative and Executive branches to provide their children anytime they decide to send our children to war.
Blowback: The Boomerang Wedge Issue- Homophobia
Wed Aug 29, 2007 at 05:46:13 PM PDT
Gazing into the crystal ball, the next step I see for the GOP- prerequisite open statements of heterosexuality by office holders, and a ban on gay/lesbian membership in the republican party.
It’s been years in the making- the GOP party plank of intolerance for gay/lesbian Americans- and now it’s come home to roost in spades. Though the republicans have taken pains over the years to promote their homophobia as much as they could short of a statement that they were ‘building camps to affect a final solution’, they have in reality created a situation from which they cannot move forward without fundamentally damaging their party, and here’s why...

Bush Makes New Appointment to FISA Court
Thu May 24, 2007 at 10:14:46 AM PDT
The Bush Administration is appointing Judge Reggie Walton of the Scotter Libby Trial to the FISA court.
I'm not sure what to make of this other than the administration has been so burned by the DOJ Scandal that they're not even going to tempt fate by putting up someone who might draw attention to their appointment.
Walton, on the face of things, looks to be a good choice for this position.
Justice Dept Panics: Domestic Spying Review
Mon Nov 27, 2006 at 04:19:33 PM PDT
I can't help but wonder if the Justice Department is worried about getting caught behind the 8 ball on this one. They're going to 'investigate' before the real investigation begins.

Domestic Spying Program to Get Internal Review
By JASON RYAN
WASHINGTON, Nov. 27, 2006 — The Justice Department's inspector general has informed the Judiciary and Intelligence committees of both the House and Senate that he will begin a review of the controversial NSA Terrorist Surveillance Program.
In a letter to the committees, Inspector General Glenn Fine wrote that the review would be to examine the Justice Department's "controls and use of information related to the program and the department's compliance with legal requirements governing the program."
ABC News: Foley Not the Only One
Mon Oct 02, 2006 at 05:46:11 PM PDT
I'm not sure that this can be interpreted in too many different ways- it reads to me like the republican source in this article is saying Foley was not the only 'problem' congressman they have.
"A former senior Republican official in Congress says Foley was one of a handful of members and staff whose behavior with pages was being closely watched."

Kentucky Starbucks Kicks Out Democrats
Fri Jul 14, 2006 at 08:15:06 AM PDT
I suspect a couple of young conservative types thought they could just make up the rules that they like the best. And frankly I believe these kinds of subtle attack on Democrats are probaqbly more pervasive than is being reported.

No shock here- rightwing websites that were accidently blocked in Ernie Fletcher's (R-Scumbag) attempt to squelch Democratic websites are now being unblocked for State worker viewing.

KY Republican Gov Invokes the Fifth Amendment
Wed Aug 31, 2005 at 06:32:19 AM PDT
Governor Fletcher (R-Scumbag) has invoked his fifth amendment rights before the grand jury. I know you're all very shocked.
Governor invokes Fifth in grand jury appearance
06:47 PM EDT on Tuesday, August 30, 2005
A sitting Kentucky governor has refused to answer questions from a grand jury that called him to testify. That's what Ernie Fletcher did Tuesday in Frankfort.
...Governor Fletcher walked up the wet steps of the Franklin County courthouse with his wife Glenna. He was headed to the grand jury room. He kissed his wife before going into the secret proceedings, sitting in the witness chair and refusing to testify.
Fletcher invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, though he insists he's never willfully committed any violations of state merit laws.
