Roosevelt Calls on Nation to Ban Bootlegger--Saloon's Return; Huge Liquor Imports Authorized

Washington, Dec. 5. (Exclusive) National prohibition ended this afternoon at 3:32 o'clock when a convention in Utah formally ratified the Twenty-first Amendment to the United States Constitution, and thus repealed the Eighteenth Amendment.

What's this about? It's a reminder the U.S. Constitution can be amended.

Going back home from NN08

Sun Jul 20, 2008 at 05:26:15 PM PDT

I’m somewhere in Arizona now, stopped to get some rest. I went down looking for the Gila River, but when I stopped to talk to two Pima Indians about where it was, they said the white man blocked it off years ago.

Dispatch from Netroots Nation

Fri Jul 18, 2008 at 10:38:03 AM PDT

I’ve spoken with many interesting people here at Netroots Nation. I did miss some key meetings that I’d hope to make with General Clarke and Mr. Dean (I did let out a shout when Dean made mention at the keynote of "blackbox voting" in Texas and how it’s suspect). Hopefully I'll be able to find them today.

Here in Ausitn. Already seeing folks I ran into last year. I just saw OPOL and his son, and I saw casperr, and I talked with teacherken (he still thinks problems can be fixed through Congress--Anti-Conventionist) and thereisnospoon (Conventionist). I also spoke with Don Siegelman, he's really nice and seemed to like the idea for the documentary: http://www.articlev.org

Dear Diary: My Netroots Nation Road Trip

Tue Jul 15, 2008 at 02:00:54 PM PDT

Dear Diary,

I got my Prius rental and got on the road out of Los Angeles this morning, headed to Austin. It’s about 1,400 miles. I’ve stopped at the Starbucks in Blythe, California to have an espresso and post this diary entry. It has hit 109 degrees so far. Right now I’m driving with all the windows down, and the air is so dry that if a drop of perspiration drops onto my torso it gives a brief prick of cool before evaporating. Is that gross? I’ll probably use the air conditioning at some point, but right now I’m enjoying the desert. I like the desert a lot. It’s something really nice to look out onto when you’re thinking about stuff. I especially like to glance off to any great cloud formation over whatever mountain or bluff. There’s something about the sight of big beautiful clouds in the desert I really get a kick out of.

Why The FISA Vote Does Not Matter

Wed Jul 09, 2008 at 01:03:43 PM PDT

In case you didn't know, politics are about creating an appearance to in turn create a popular perception. The term "popular perception" means what the public at large believes to be the truth.

If the public at large believes the U.S. Constitution is dead letter, and the sovereign power resting with the citizens of the United States of America is no more, they'll turn their back on political discourse.

That’s the game of American politics in a nutshell. The problem for the establishments on either coast of this truly great nation, is that with each new generation coming of age, they must once again create the appearance that political discourse does not matter.

If you still care that’s good. You should. The game’s not over.

Macbeth 4:3

Tue Jul 08, 2008 at 04:05:53 PM PDT

An adaptation/translation of Shakespeare's Macbeth.

I don't know if it was because I took some time off or what, but this scene was work! The last line I'm still not sure of. It stays as is for now because of how nice and final it sounds, though the sense of it is not precise, contemporary-wise. I must go out now, so comments, if any, I'll have to address later. Hope you enjoy.

Santa Cruz Island (part 9)

Fri Jun 27, 2008 at 01:20:42 PM PDT

Hi, how are you? I hope good. I think about you. I hope you’re still with me.

So check it out, here’s the latest: turns out I’ve been found guilty of Tampering and Memorialization with debris from a plane wreck on the western part of Santa Cruz Island, when the debris I tampered with and built into a sculpture was on the eastern end. The National Park Service and the United States of America have accused me of something I did not do. I didn't tamper with plane wreck debris from the western end of the island.

The United States of America has attempted to use my Daily Kos diaires against me in this federal proceeding. They're probably reading this, too, so below are two motions I mailed off this week.
