Bill Clinton to address Philadelphia Ward Leaders
Thu Mar 06, 2008 at 07:36:20 PM PDT
Bill Clinton is scheduled to address Philadelphia's ward leaders tomorrow (Friday Mar 07).
Philly's wards - including not just the predominantly African-American wards to the West and North, but also the upper-income predominantly White wards to the Northwest - are overwhelmingly for Obama.
Does Clinton seriously think he's going to woo Philly after his South Carolina stinker? Reminds me of the following passage in the Washington Post's Even in Victory, Clinton Team Is Battling Itself:
[Photos] Hilary keeps TX Press Corps in Mens Room

At first I thought this was a joke.

It's no joke. Read about it on the TIME Magazine blog! Hilary's TX press corps filing room is in a men's bathroom in Austin's Berger Activity Center.
"These accommodations should in no way be taken as a commentary on the quality of our media coverage," said Clinton spokesman Doug Hattaway.
Gosh, thanks! And she has the gall to complain about media bias. Me, I think this is proof positive that she's really a Republican, complete with McCain endorsement.
please.. make it stop...
SI, SE PUEDE! CNN: "The Black/Brown Divide ?"
Fri Feb 15, 2008 at 06:19:58 PM PDT
CNN's horrid "The Black/Brown Divide" segment was just decimated by their own expert panelists -- to paraphrase:
Host: The BLACK/BROWN DIVIDE. Is it true that Latinos won't vote for Blacks?
Black Panelist: The "Black/Brown Divide" is bullshit. Neither group represents a homogeneous bloc of voters.
Latino Panelist: The "Black/Brown Divide" is bullshit. Neither group represents a homogeneous bloc of voters. Look at the record of Latinos voting heavily for black candidates across the country.
Host: But we have a quote from a Clinton campaign staffer saying so. Take a look.
Latino Panelist: That Clinton staffer is paid to say that. That's bullshit and why would you listen to them anyway?
I'm no partisan, I'm officially an undecided voter who would be happy with any candidate that can mop the floor with McCain and hand the reins of government over to the responsible adults in the country.
But as a person with one foot in the African-American community and the other in the Mexican-American community, this latest meme is something I simply cannot stand!

Rumsfeld's resignation letter remains elusive

WASHINGTON, May 15 (Reuters) - The Bush administration is keeping a tight hold on Donald Rumsfeld's resignation letter nearly five months after the former defense secretary and Iraq war manager stepped down.
The Pentagon says it does not have a copy, and the White House office likely to hold the letter is not subject to the law that allows the public to seek release of government documents, the Freedom of Information Act or FOIA .
A defense official, who declined to be identified publicly, on Tuesday chalked up the close hold on Rumsfeld's letter to the existence of few copies.
"I suspect there's only one copy of that and it went to the president," the official said.
