It is hard to ignore it in this campaign.  Race.  

For the first time ever, we have a presumptive nominee who is an African American.  There is no escaping it.  Race.  

Senator Obama delivered nothing short of an inspiring speech about it.  Race.  

But don’t we live in a colorblind society?  Shouldn’t race be inconsequential?    No.  And no.

I just sent this missive to my Congressman, Jim Gerlach (PA 6).  I know it probably won't change his vote, but maybe if he hears it enough, it might break through that Stepford Wives white noise coming out of the White House.  Pipe dream?  Probably.  But should I sit on my hands because Gerlach is a GOP automiton?  Hell no!

Notwithstanding Al Roker's exclusive inside the silo report this morning, I have seen and done things few civilians, not to mention military personnel, have ever done.  Follow my Minuteman Missile story after the fold for yet another reason to vote for Barack Obama.

This morning on the Today show, Tim Russert played the video of a former Boston Globe ans current AP reporter calling out Mitt Romney for claiming that his campaign is not being run by lobbyists.  Although he praised the reporter, Timmy left the clear impression that the reporter went too far.

The Republican State Committee of Pennsylvania just sent out a mass mailing to its faithful filled with lies and distortion.  It is increasingly obvious that the only thing they have to offer is paranoia.  What they said and an analysis is below the fold.

I saw that this lawsuit has been diaried before here, but it took the diary in a completely different direction.  I also have access to the Complaint, and that document sheds light on the consequences of the Ordinance.  I wanted you all to know about the horrible economic impact these zenophobic laws have on the ENTIRE community, not just on the so-called "illegals."
