BREAKING-Lieberman Wins
Tue Nov 07, 2006 at 06:12:57 PM PDT
BREAKING NEWS.
Lieberman has been projected to win by NBC News. I love Ned, but I think its over. You never know, maybe I am following the mainstream media to hard.
Hopefully something is wrong, but I doubt it is.
Ned ran a great campaign, god bless him. We are having a good night, but Ned Lamont was our man, and he has been defeated. Makes me a bit sad.

Here We Go (A Thank You Note)
Mon Nov 06, 2006 at 06:20:44 PM PDT
This is it folks.
This election is one of the most important in the history of our country. Will we go down the same, crazy path, or will we see change in America? It is all up to us, the voters, and a little bit of good old fashioned luck.
All this time we have prepared for the momentous day of November the Seventh, the day where our hard work out on the blogs would pay off. And it very well may.
Hagel: The G.O.P Has Lost It's Way
Sun Aug 20, 2006 at 01:08:36 PM PDT
The A.P reports today that Senator Chuck Hagel does not entirely agree with the way that the G.O.P is going.
NY Times Shocked by G.O.P Support for Lieberman
Sat Aug 19, 2006 at 07:23:29 AM PDT

The New York Times seems so surprised that the G.O.P is for Lieberman, and that they all but left Alan Schlesinger on his own.
Facing Senator Joseph I. Lieberman's independent candidacy, Republican officials at the state and national level have made the extraordinary decision to abandon their official candidate, and some are actively working to help Mr. Lieberman win in November.
Despite Mr. Lieberman's position that he will continue to caucus with Democrats if re-elected, all three Republican Congressional candidates in Connecticut have praised Mr. Lieberman and have not endorsed the party's nominee, Alan Schlesinger. An independent group with Republican ties is raising money for Mr. Lieberman, who has been a strong supporter of President Bush on the Iraq war.
Mike Gallagher Calls for "Muslim Only Line"
Fri Aug 18, 2006 at 02:01:52 PM PDT
What on earth? Have we gone back 50 years, or what? But Mike Gallagher, a Fox News guest, suggested that we create "Muslim, only lines" at airports, in order to crack down on terrorism. The comments were first reported by newshound.
Its time to have a Muslims check-point line in American airports and have Muslims be scrutinized. You better believe it. Its time.
Michael Goss, who isn't exactly liberal, but at least doesn't agree with this Gallagher clown, had this to say.
Security?? Security???
Tue Aug 15, 2006 at 06:46:33 AM PDT
The AP Reports that putting your shoes through an X-Ray machine isn't going to help find liquids and gels, because they cannot detect them.
The government's new order that all airline passengers put their shoes through X-ray machines won't help screeners find a liquid or gel that can be used as a bomb. The machines are unable to detect explosives, according to a Homeland Security report on aviation screening recently obtained by The Associated Press.
We, the taxpayers, give our hard earned money to the government for a machine that can't detect liquids? The Republicans say they are better with security issues, and yet we are still waiting in lines to use machines that won't even find things in the first place?
Among the new procedures are a ban on liquids and gels in airline passenger cabins, more hand searches of carryon luggage, and random double screening of passengers at boarding gates.
Senate Democrats Finally Point Fingers!!
Sat Aug 12, 2006 at 06:51:01 AM PDT
The Senate Democrats today told Dick Cheney today that he was "Playing politics with terrorism" and that the "voters will not buy arguments that the G.0.P is stronger on security."
Finally, finally the Democrats speak their minds, and the minds of the citizens of this country. Finally they have pointed the finger at the evil man who has led this country down such a terrible path, Richard Cheney.
Cheney spoke about Ned's victory by saying it would "break the will of the American people in terms of our ability to stay in the fight and complete the task."
Scott Garrett, Not Right for Jersey
Fri Aug 11, 2006 at 06:56:12 AM PDT
Paul Aronsohn faces Scott Garrett on election day 2006 in northern New Jersey. While one of Paul's policies is to act unilaterely when necessary, which I don't entirely agree with, he is a Democrat and is willing to stand up to Scott Garrett.
For those of you not familiar with Garrett, he is an neo-conservative Republican who is friendly with big oil. We obviously have no place for people like him in Washington, and to find out more about his terrible policies, you can visit www.dumpgarrett.com, a website which was created to show the voters of Jersey that he is a terrible congressman.
I didn't create that site, but I did create this one. I don't mean to self promote but if you would like to follow the race, please go to nj05.blogspot.com; living in the district makes it easier for me find out who is for and against Scott Garrett, and to hear individual stories on why.
Lieberman: Be Like Jerry....
Thu Aug 10, 2006 at 06:19:38 AM PDT
note, written last night.
Now I know we don't talk about music here, but here is a musical figure who means so much to me, because he was more than that. Jerry Garcia died August 9th, 1995, due to complications from sleep apnea, and repeated drug use.
But he was a progressive man, a man who inside had a heart of gold, who was fair, who supported labor unions, who did what was right for his group and what was right for his fans.
As A Blogosphere...
Tue Aug 08, 2006 at 01:44:50 PM PDT
We are facing our toughest time yet. Accusations of cheating and lying, while our influence may push a worthy progressive candidate over the hump and into the Senate race. We truly are under the microscope for the rest of the world to see.
So we must keep our cool. Act as we always do, no republican-esque name calling, but hard solid facts to back up our left wing views. We have done this for so long, we should not get carried away today.
The Image of A Presidential Candidate
Thu Jul 06, 2006 at 05:42:40 PM PDT
As much as everyone here loves those gritty candidates who have the real progressive views on images, we cannot, repeat, cannot compromise the image of the candidate we put up there in 08. But not for Democrats, because we know we will vote for the democrat over the republican, but for those people on the fence.
Look at a J.F.K. I personally like the kind of president he was, but he had his share of problems. But on top of that he was charming, young, energetic, and fun to watch. And so even when Bay of Pigs was a disaster, the Cuban Missile Crisis almost changed the face of war, he was still beloved by many. Even through all of his problems, the world stopped when he was assassinated. He was respected.
Kerry and Company Debate Iraq
Thu Jun 22, 2006 at 06:44:02 AM PDT
Note: Written Last Night During Debate.
Tonight John Kerry and his Democratic supporters are having an extremely wise debate over the current state of Iraq and Mr.Kerry's proposal to withdraw most forces from Iraq by July 1 2007, leaving special forces to help the some 400,000 combined Iraqi Soldiers, Police Forces, and other trained protectors of the peace.
The New York Times ran an article in which they talked about the division within the Democratic party about the two amendments on Iraq. Here is an excerpt.
The Simplicity of the LIberal and the Complicated path of the Conservative
Wed Jun 21, 2006 at 07:14:04 AM PDT
The liberal cause is a much more direct, simple path then many would imagine. We are pretty straight shooters, we set up blogs that anyone can set up pretty quickly, we publish our thoughts (which aren't necessarily simple) without too many complicated media ranglings and radio frequencies.
The conservatives on the other hand have to wade through corporate corruption, all of the lies, and they seem to only want to express themselves through television and talk radio (on their biggest scales).
My Endorsement of John Murtha for Future Majority Leader
Tue Jun 20, 2006 at 07:52:23 AM PDT
Wow. Finally, someone in congress has the guts to talk about the lies, the scandals, and the problems that plague this war. John Murtha, a somewhat conservative Democrat from Pennsylvania has been in opposition to the war for a long time. But he won't back down, even after being called out by the G.O.P spin machine. He went onto Meet the Press and blasted Karl Rove and his lying, cheating unpatriotic policies one by one. This was the best quote of all:
Impeachment: Not So Radical
Mon Jun 19, 2006 at 06:15:42 AM PDT
Note: I am sure there have been diaries entered on impeachment, but I have a specific view point and would like to share it.
Of course, even the mention of impeachment comes with the old, too radical, liberal, America hating jargon that has plagued progressives for decades. But impeachment is not so radical after all. Before we examine the case against George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, and what the implications of impeachment are, let's look at the history of impeachment in the United States.
Open Skies
Sun Jun 18, 2006 at 06:40:24 AM PDT
Watching C-Span for a few minutes when I got home the other day, I saw a debate on if it should be or not be legal to let foreign countries own parts of our airlines. An amendment was on the floor to block the Department of Transportation from allowing this.
Many congressmen approved of the amendment and wanted to keep airlines owned by U.S citizens. Some Republicans said that it should be struck down, however, for the sake of "lower fares" and "trust in our neighbors". There was an I and No call out, (which I think is absurd). So did one Congressmen, as he called for a Yay and Nay session later on.
