Federal Court to Decide If (Another) Woman Lives or Dies

Mon Mar 21, 2005 at 09:53:25 PM PDT

"ANGEL RAICH, MEDICINAL MARIJUANA ADVOCATE: If it wasn't for cannabis, I really wouldn't be here today talking to you and fighting for my rights. And I feel very strongly that the justices should really think very hardly about the fact, on the facts that are before them, because, today, if they decide that I have the right to live, then I will be able to spend the rest of my life with my family. On the other hand, if they side against me, it means that they would be giving me a death sentence. "

Attention Liberal Media and Democratic Smear Machines

Thu Feb 10, 2005 at 12:53:11 PM PDT

Repeat after me as long as Bush is in the White House:

A gay prostitute using a false name and false credentials from a GOP front group had access to the bush white house and classified CIA documents exposing Valerie Plame as a CIA agent. Through the incompetence or intention of the press secretary he was placed in the press pool to help advance administration policies through propoganda.

Liberal Wedge Issue: Medical Marijuana

Sat Nov 06, 2004 at 09:52:37 AM PDT

This is a perfect issue for several reasons.  First, there is a large liberal base of people who believe medical pot should be legal.  Second, several red states have already made it legal.  Alaska, Montana, Arizona, Colorado to name some.

Also, it can be framed as a states rights issue, just like gay marriage.  Why should the feds arrest people who are in a state that approves medical marijuana, not to mention, why should they arrest people following doctors advice?

It is an issue that can be used with controversial and effective advertising.  Find a cancer patient and have them ask why the goverment wants to take their medicine.

I'm sure the democrats are too spineless to touch something with the word 'marijuana' in it though.

Need Help in New York

Tue Nov 02, 2004 at 11:33:40 AM PDT

The situation is kind of crazy, many people can't find out where they are supposed to go to vote.  The phone number they have listed on their website does not work, and they are not replying to e-mail.

My sister is a first time voter and she can not figure out where to go, can anyone help?

She is in Brooklyn, NY 11217

She thinks she has to go to P.S. 9 at 80 Underhill Avenue -- the closest school to her place.

Is there anyone in NYC who knows a way  to confirm this?

NRCC equates Ginny Schrader with Hezbollah

Mon Oct 25, 2004 at 04:55:57 AM PDT

Well, I received a flyer from the National Republican Congressional Committee; don't ask me why they are sending me anything.

It attacks Schrader for rasing money for her campaign by showing Fahrenheit 9/11, "...a film filled with propaganda that Hezbollah related organizations offered to distribute."

Bush has gone too far.

Sun Oct 10, 2004 at 03:23:26 AM PDT

In 2000, I was not a Gore supporter.  I worked for the libertarian canidate and was proud of it.

Since that time, I have seen my rights and civil liberties be destroyed, but never, until now, have I been so sure Bush must be destroyed, and forever forgoten from the political stage.

Nice googlebomb opportunity

Tue Aug 10, 2004 at 09:51:39 PM PDT

This story is already on the first page of results for the search term 'republican convention':

It would be great if it made it to number one.

Shame, Shame, Shame

Fri Jul 09, 2004 at 01:38:02 AM PDT

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2001975584_patriot09.html

"By a 210-210 tie vote that GOP leaders prolonged for 23 tumultuous minutes while they corralled dissident members, the House rejected a proposed change to the USA Patriot Act that would have barred the Justice Department from searching bookstore and library records. White House officials, citing the nearly three-year-old law's importance as an anti-terrorism tool, warned that an attempt to weaken it would be vetoed.

But the victory came only after GOP tactics infuriated Democrats and several Republicans. The vote, scheduled to last 15 minutes, dragged on for 38 minutes despite outraged shouts and a unified chant of "shame ... shame ... shame" from Democrats. "

Does anyone know where I could find some audio or video of this?  I've been having no luck in my searches, google news just provides text and the incident is too new to show up in the web search.

Oh, and of course I haven't seen any of it on the TV news.

New Googlebomb Project

Wed Jul 07, 2004 at 02:30:15 AM PDT

The good people over at Eshcaton are encouraging people to link the GWbio with the word "wealthy" as a little ironic poke at the GOP critics of Kerry and Edwards.

wealthy.

I for one think the term "filthy rich" would be better applied to them.

It's not reign, don't fark it up

1.    My country,' tis of thee,
    sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing;
    land where my fathers died,
    land of the pilgrims' pride,
    from every mountainside let freedom ring!

2.    My native country, thee,
    land of the noble free, thy name I love;
    I love thy rocks and rills,
    thy woods and templed hills;
    my heart with rapture thrills, like that above.

3.    Let music swell the breeze,
    and ring from all the trees sweet freedom's song;
    let mortal tongues awake;
    let all that breathe partake;
    let rocks their silence break, the sound prolong.

4.    Our fathers' God, to thee,
    author of liberty, to thee we sing;
    long may our land be bright
    with freedom's holy light;
    protect us by thy might, great God, our King.

I love the f911 trailer.

Mon Jun 21, 2004 at 03:29:36 PM PDT

I can't stop watching it.  Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what that song is that is playing at the end of the trailer.

(Yeah, sorry for wasting diary space for a stupid question)

Yeah, some liberal media...

Wed Jun 02, 2004 at 01:17:44 PM PDT

CNN cuts off a live John Kerry press conference to show me a RECORDED interview with Condaleeza Rice, is this a farking joke?

Uh, not to be too morbid here but...

Wed May 12, 2004 at 02:07:45 PM PDT

So they got his body back and flew it into dover...how did they track it down/get it back in the first place?

Ed Rendell would be a great VP

Wed May 12, 2004 at 05:09:44 AM PDT

He's one of those no-nonsense politicians who I would love to see taking the role of kerry's attack dog.

Would also help make sure Kerry takes PA.

HEY DEMOCRATS

Tue May 11, 2004 at 03:39:54 PM PDT

Now or never. take bush down.

Bush is the king of photo-ops

Thu May 06, 2004 at 09:49:37 AM PDT

Why are the 24/7 news channels...

Fri Apr 23, 2004 at 09:41:53 AM PDT

Not giving credit to the memory hole for getting these pictures. All I hear is, "pictures posted on the internet..." or "pictures found their way onto the internet.." as if the pictures just did it on their own.

If the AP had done the journalism to get these pictures, Wolf Blitzer would credit the AP in his story.  He would not say, "some news organization got the pictures..."

Who wrote the PDB?

Sun Apr 11, 2004 at 05:51:51 PM PDT

All I've seen so far is that it's from the CIA, the tinfoil hat part of me is thinking this might overlap with another ongoing bush scandal.
