A Historic Halloween Poem

Wed Oct 31, 2007 at 02:36:23 PM PDT

It's Halloween and just a poem that I spent much time on a few years back.  My hope is to lighten things up here, as I've been feeling pretty gloomy these past few days and even angry at times during the past six years.
I want to thank markos and the members here who have made the political spectrum bearable to me.  I came here during Ned Lamont's tenuous campaign against LIEberman, when too many people said we didn't have a chance in the primary.  We won, and though we lost in the general, the world was watching little old Connecticut (A great New England place for Halloween btw).
So without further ado, here is my dedication to all of you kossacks who love history, great heroes, and a few villains-- this Halloween, party-poem has a lot (constructive criticism will be appreciated).  Peace, best Wishes, and Happy Halloween.

I saw Gore in '92 at Wesleyan U

Wed Sep 05, 2007 at 02:42:54 PM PDT

in Middletown Ct.  He spoke of change in the WH, and the uncertain economy, echoing that ill-phrased voodoo economics (that Bush 41 accused Reagan of and then followed his course).  He cited the need for hard work, and and the certain great change Clinton and he had agreed on.

Time to Investigate

Fri Nov 10, 2006 at 10:15:24 PM PDT

For the past six years I have been sick of reading about Bush, Cheney, Haliburton, and all the other crooks getting away with plundering and pillaging American Dreams!  Now it's time to investigate them, and punish those who abused power and subjected us.

What's Up With YouTube?

Wed Oct 25, 2006 at 08:57:59 PM PDT

Is is my failure to grasp reality, or is there a problem leaving pro-Democratic responses under Repug. video adds.  I tried, several times, to leave an anti Bob Corker comment under a video add of his denouncing Harold Ford J.r. as growing up in D.C. while Corker grew up in Tenn., and insinuates that Ford is disengenuous (imagine the nerve of Corker's porkers).  Follow me down, please.

Judge Was Behind The Wheel

Thu Oct 19, 2006 at 09:20:34 PM PDT

I haven't seen anything about this since reading in The Hartford Courant this morning.   A cousin of the former President George H.W. Bush, John M. Walker Jr. was identified as driving an SUV and striking a policeman who is in critical condition in Yale-New Haven Hospital.

I' m Angry, Upset, and Frustrated

Tue Oct 10, 2006 at 08:33:08 PM PDT

I am angry because I've read so many pieces here that are so well written and, yet have that excruciating clause, or comment (even thesis) saying, "And I wonder  what Carl Rove is going to do now?  Or, I think Rove is going to do this...."  The hell with him, why don't you just give him something to wonder about rather than the opposite?  Or, put him on the defensive!  Our Bill of Rights is being threatened which so many other nations have applauded and wished for.  Where are our Democratic leaders?  Where's their outrage?

I Hate George W. Bush (a poem)

Sat Oct 07, 2006 at 11:26:49 PM PDT

I never hated anything, ever--
Until I hated George Walker Bush!
I see him sucking the power,
And Glory of our nation.
He repulses our vibrant, patriotic character,
Like a nazi, dictator of yesterday.
His nickname in college was "Lips,"
As if he was a freaky vacuum.
This country is far too great for him to ruin,
His ilk and scum-bag rovers will soon find out;
We shall survive and outgrow this "C" student
Of Yale and Harvard, and sleaze/cocaine speakeasy's.
When will the "preppie-boy" realize he is done?
Do we have to hang him like an animal?
Or, will he go willingly with his peers?
I have compassion, but it is going fast.
America is too great to let him go,
America remembers most Nazi family ties,
And a Grandpa's K.K.K. membership.
It's time for his, and Daddie's quip,
"For ghastly times" ironic to boot.
Time to cut loose, the Bush trilateral hold.
This lying-face man needs his just do!
Did his Grandfather really support the Nazis?
Did his Great Grandfather belong to the K.K.K.?
And does he really believe that all are created equal?

I Met Ned Lamont today

Tue Aug 22, 2006 at 09:17:01 PM PDT

and found him to be earthy, warm, gracious, and full of substance.  I went to the official New Britain opening of their Democratic Headquarters for this year's election campaign.
He is a dynamic person who is accessible and easy to talk to.  He spoke more on all the other local candidates than himself, carefully plugging them rather than his own agenda, particularly John Destefano who is running for Governor.  Of him, he said that what made him so interested of Destefano was his vision, and that this man didn't just think of Connecticut in the now, but he was amazed that the Govenor-elect thought about our state ten years into the future.
He also plugged Attorney General Richard Blumenthal for being at almost every event that he, Ned Lamont  was at, no matter how large or how small, making him dignified.

CNN and Glenn Beck are tiresome

Sat Aug 19, 2006 at 11:22:14 PM PDT

Being a sort of news junkie and keeping the tv on in the background while I sift thru Blogs such as Daily Kos, I've been outraged by Glenn Beck the "rah-rah" big-mouth on CNNHN.  He is the epitome of a talking headache who is so full of himself and his self-indulging, moronic giggles.
It makes me wonder who listens and WATCHES his nightly drivel?  And who has the audacity and gumption to produce and edit this blowhardy fool?  I watched him last night make fun of Jimmy Carter.  He tried to act as if he is an indulgent guru who is too full of yesterday's dinner, lunch, and breakfast, yet can't release the gas which he desperately needs to, as if it is the fault of the one he is trying to ridicule.  He is like a clown who flunked out of clown college only to have ended up on CNN-- ahh the fickle hand of fate!
Tonight he has made fun of Al Gore and I just am astounded that people like him can have access to a media outlet such as CNN while being such a moronic tool.  I also see on Google that he has a radio show.

Ct Democratic Primary

Thu Jul 27, 2006 at 11:57:08 PM PDT

This is my first diary post in Daily Kos.  I am writing on behalf of Ned Lamont because I believe that he is a great alternative to what I call politics as usual.  It reminds me of that Who song, "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss... We don't get fooled again, no, no NO!"
For too long the rhetoric in campaigns has been the same no matter which side you listen to.  Negativity and lies abound.  Ned Lamont brings a positive approach with no mud slinging, and stays with the issues of war in Iraq as well as Health Care, Education, and the economy among others.
Joe Lieberman, on the other foot, casts blind accusations and berates Mr. lamont for using his own hard-earned money to finance his run for Senator.
