There is a new SUSA poll out today that shows Obama up 2% on McCain in Virginia. Obviously it is very early but I think the poll is worth noting.

SUSA also did some polling making certain people VP candidates to see if it moves the poll in one direction or another. The polls do not move much more than 5 points one way or the other showing to me the VP candidates are not as important as they are made out to be.

Today John Edwards continued to keep is promise of not accepting money from lobbyists and PACs after discovering some donations to his campaign came from lobbyists.

There has recently been much discussion about John Edwards and his comments that he wants to limit the debates to a smaller number of participants. I have defended Edwards comments saying that all he wants is to have a more substative debate.

Jim Pederson is finally gaining momentunm in Arizona! A new poll out yesterday that is not a Zogby/WSJ poll has Pederson only down 10 to Kyl! This poll which is considered the most accurate by many in Arizona shows Pederson's constant TV ads are working. Considering the Rasmussen poll that had Pederson down 19 was conducted just before he went back on the air on July 21st, Pederson has cut Kyl's lead in half since then!
