Gallup: Few Americans favor fixing economy by redistributing wealth

Sat Jun 28, 2008 at 01:36:04 PM PDT

This is interesting. The last 30 years we've seen a huge redistribution of wealth from the middle class and working class into the hands of the wealthy and big corporations. Despite this, $4 a gallon gas, foreclosures,
and stagnant wages a recent Gallup poll shows few Americans (13%) favor redistribution to fix the economy.

Will you join me in not recommending anti-Hillary or anti-Obama diaries?

Sat Mar 29, 2008 at 02:09:36 PM PDT

I'm very concerned about what's happening in the Democratic Party. I go to DKOS, and I read a lot of anti-Hillary diaries. I go to mydd.com and   I read a lot of anti-Obama diaries. I attend a Barack Obama House Party and every single person present except me says they will sit out the Novemeber election if Hillary is the nominee. I read a lot of Hillary supporters feel the same if Obama is nominated.

I met someone who believes Barack is a Muslim!!

Sun Feb 24, 2008 at 10:02:49 AM PDT

I've heard there's an email hoax that Barack Obama is a Muslim. But I never thought I'd run into somebody who actually believed it!!

I went to breakfast this morning at a buffet in Minnesota. This woman comes up to me and asks "May I tag along with you? I have a coupon that says buy one meal get one free. All you need to do is say I'm with you."
I'd never had such a request and I'm not good at saying no, so I went along.

Does the Standard of Living need to drop further?

What needs to happen before the majority of Americans wake up and stop electing corporate candidates? I believe one of the reasons Democrats  began to lose in the late 1960's is because we achieved our goal of making most people middle class. After that, we didn't have a lot left  to run on. Every now and then I get into a conversation with a co-worker that leads me to believe liberals will not win again until Republicans have destroyed even more of America's middle class.

A Conversation With a Christian Right Voter

Wed Nov 21, 2007 at 04:07:33 PM PDT

I had a short political discussion with someone yesterday. I didn't know she was a Christian Right voter. The whole conversation led me to wonder if maybe a lot of liberals are right when they say the Democratic Party went too far to   the economic center and not enough people can tell the difference.

We were talking about how our government seems to work for the benefit of big business, not ordinary people.
