So this is my first of two Daily Show/Colbert Report Open Threads. TiaRachel’s original diary on tonight’s episodes are here and here. The guests tonight are David Iglesias on The Daily Show and Junot Diaz and Dr. Uma Mysorekar on The Colbert Report. I’m not sure what else to write, so I’m including a few random things.

20,000 people die every day from cancer, according to the American Cancer Society. I've written about this previously, but I want to ask one last time for your help.

Well, it seems that Obama may be the one who can ultimately take credit for defeating Susan Collins in November.

I didn't plan on writing this diary today. In fact, I have half of a diary already written about my experience at the Maine Democratic Convention on Saturday. But today I'm going to ask you to sponsor me.

I had never planned on talking about any of my own medical problems, but with Ted Kennedy's diagnosis of a glioma tumor I guess now is a good time to tell you that I had the same diagnosis a couple of years ago.

John Edwards announced his endorsement of Barack Obama tonight. He talked about the terrible problems of the working class and the need for universal health care. But he also made a startling revelation...he still hasn't received a Jet-Ski.

The past few days have probably been the worst that I’ve seen, when it comes to candidate diaries. In the past, I’ve participated in supporting some candidate diaries, and I can’t promise that I won’t do it again in the future. But for now...ENOUGH!

It's been proven that Maine is the whitest state in the country. And yet, Obama is almost certain to win the caucus. That just begs the question: Who's Jesse Jackson now, Bill?

Anyway, follow me below the fold to hear about my experiences at my caucus today.

That's what I heard tonight coming from Hillary Clinton's mouth on my local news. Obama and Clinton were both in Maine today campaigning and they showed interviews with each candidate. Obama was asked questions that he's been asked a thousand times, so I didn't hear him say anything that he hasn't said before (For example, would he have Hillary as VP?). But Hillary said something strange...

So...Obama's had quite a day. His stops earlier today garnered record crowds. But Boston was the last stop on his agenda for today, and I was there to witness it (and take some video footage).

This is not meant to be a Hillary-bashing diary. I will not even attempt to get into the specific policy differences between any of the candidates and who I think has the best plans. Instead, I found that I needed to write a diary about some feelings that I’ve had for a while. To some people it probably won’t make much sense. Others may agree. Such is politics.

I've been lucky, I suppose. I don't have any right-wing relatives to send me crazy e-mails. I don't really have any Republican friends either (at least not ones that I contact through e-mail). So I thought I was pretty much immune from Republican smear e-mails. I was wrong.

Tonight Senator Barack Obama held a rally in Boston Common to work up support in Massachusetts. I was there, and I had a front row seat.

This pissed me off. Here I am, just watching the local news, when the ad below the fold comes on the TV.

I haven't seen this story on TV and MSN hasn't got an official story up yet, but there's a little "breaking news" bar on MSN that says that he has intestinal bleeding. I'll post more as this story develops.

At his age, this can't be good. Although a lot of people here disagree with the stuff he preaches, I think we should still keep him in our prayers.

He was admitted for observation and is listed in fair condition.

Mr. Graham's physicians said the illness does not appear to be life-threatening, as Mr. Graham's condition had stabilized over the hours following admission and treatment.

He is fully conscious, alert, and visiting with members of his family.

It looks like Russian President Vladimir Putin will be spending a couple of days in scenic Kennebunkport, ME. Everyone got their protest signs ready?
