I'm 19 and I am very passionate about politics. In 2004 I volunteered for over 100 hours for Democratic candidates and many more hours in 2006. I also started blogging periodically on DKos last year and love every minute of it.

20,000 Dead Per Day

Mon Jun 16, 2008 at 03:27:53 PM PDT

20,000 people die every day from cancer, according to the American Cancer Society. I've written about this previously, but I want to ask one last time for your help.

Tom Allen Taking Tips From Obama

Thu Jun 12, 2008 at 02:47:56 PM PDT

Well, it seems that Obama may be the one who can ultimately take credit for defeating Susan Collins in November.

I'm asking for your help today

Mon Jun 02, 2008 at 05:43:19 PM PDT

I didn't plan on writing this diary today. In fact, I have half of a diary already written about my experience at the Maine Democratic Convention on Saturday. But today I'm going to ask you to sponsor me.

My Tumor Tale

Tue May 20, 2008 at 03:30:02 PM PDT

I had never planned on talking about any of my own medical problems, but with Ted Kennedy's diagnosis of a glioma tumor I guess now is a good time to tell you that I had the same diagnosis a couple of years ago.

The John Edwards Jet-Ski Fund

Wed May 14, 2008 at 04:24:42 PM PDT

John Edwards announced his endorsement of Barack Obama tonight. He talked about the terrible problems of the working class and the need for universal health care. But he also made a startling revelation...he still hasn't received a Jet-Ski.

ENOUGH!

Wed Mar 12, 2008 at 12:18:12 PM PDT

The past few days have probably been the worst that I’ve seen, when it comes to candidate diaries. In the past, I’ve participated in supporting some candidate diaries, and I can’t promise that I won’t do it again in the future. But for now...ENOUGH!

So Bill...Who's Jesse Jackson now?

Sun Feb 10, 2008 at 03:49:36 PM PDT

It's been proven that Maine is the whitest state in the country. And yet, Obama is almost certain to win the caucus. That just begs the question: Who's Jesse Jackson now, Bill?

Anyway, follow me below the fold to hear about my experiences at my caucus today.

Clinton: Obama has given up on universal healthcare

Sat Feb 09, 2008 at 05:15:10 PM PDT

That's what I heard tonight coming from Hillary Clinton's mouth on my local news. Obama and Clinton were both in Maine today campaigning and they showed interviews with each candidate. Obama was asked questions that he's been asked a thousand times, so I didn't hear him say anything that he hasn't said before (For example, would he have Hillary as VP?). But Hillary said something strange...

Boston Loves Barack!!! (w/ video and photos)

Mon Feb 04, 2008 at 10:48:53 PM PDT

So...Obama's had quite a day. His stops earlier today garnered record crowds. But Boston was the last stop on his agenda for today, and I was there to witness it (and take some video footage).

Why I Can't Support Hillary Clinton

Wed Jan 09, 2008 at 05:03:34 PM PDT

This is not meant to be a Hillary-bashing diary. I will not even attempt to get into the specific policy differences between any of the candidates and who I think has the best plans. Instead, I found that I needed to write a diary about some feelings that I’ve had for a while. To some people it probably won’t make much sense. Others may agree. Such is politics.

"Barack Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegiance"

Fri Dec 21, 2007 at 10:24:51 AM PDT

I've been lucky, I suppose. I don't have any right-wing relatives to send me crazy e-mails. I don't really have any Republican friends either (at least not ones that I contact through e-mail). So I thought I was pretty much immune from Republican smear e-mails. I was wrong.

Barack Rocks Boston

Tue Oct 23, 2007 at 07:09:37 PM PDT

Tonight Senator Barack Obama held a rally in Boston Common to work up support in Massachusetts. I was there, and I had a front row seat.

WTF? (Political Ad Edition)

Wed Aug 22, 2007 at 09:37:00 AM PDT

This pissed me off. Here I am, just watching the local news, when the ad below the fold comes on the TV.

Breaking: Billy Graham Hospitalized

Sat Aug 18, 2007 at 10:25:20 AM PDT

I haven't seen this story on TV and MSN hasn't got an official story up yet, but there's a little "breaking news" bar on MSN that says that he has intestinal bleeding. I'll post more as this story develops.

At his age, this can't be good. Although a lot of people here disagree with the stuff he preaches, I think we should still keep him in our prayers.

UPDATE: From Forbes.com:

He was admitted for observation and is listed in fair condition.

Mr. Graham's physicians said the illness does not appear to be life-threatening, as Mr. Graham's condition had stabilized over the hours following admission and treatment.

He is fully conscious, alert, and visiting with members of his family.
