Memo To McCain Camp: Are you calling me unpatriotic?
Thu Aug 14, 2008 at 12:10:02 PM PDT
It is interesting how after last month disavowing any attacks on Obama's character and patriotism, the McCain camp has disavowed it's earlier disavowment. In other words more of the old adage about his right to change his mind, but he really never changed it. Look who is leading this charge of putting himself first rather then his country. None other then one of the most self rightous, self centered, and self agrandizing senators in office today, Joe Lieberman. Oh and did we mention he is a celebrity on the world stage, apparently a fatal attraction to some maybe not so bimbo blonde bimbo's? Here's the kicker, he's different......yeah I swear it he's black, damnedest thing ever right?
So where does that leave me, or does it cast a traitorist shadow over me because............(more after the fold)
Bipartisan Corruption
Tue Aug 12, 2008 at 11:18:57 AM PDT
Biparisan agreements are not dead, they are thriving in Washington DC as both parties look for new ways to lift every last dime from the taxpayers, while putting the country in more danger and creating larger gaps in National Security. Oh and just for fun let's toss in increased danger of biological hazard, all so two Representatives, a Congressman and Senator can increase their prestige and power.
Oh and did I mention their is no need for such an expenditure as this? Read on.......
My Thoughts, and a new revalation for the National Enquirer
Fri Aug 08, 2008 at 06:50:16 PM PDT
Ok, so what we all hoped (believed) what was claimed and derided by many (including myself) turned out to be true. John Edwards is not perfect and had an affair. Yes, it's true he admitted it today. Yes, he and Elizabeth Edwards discussed it before his campaign, yet pursued a false and misleading deception during the whole campaign. Yes, it was a lie. A major lie? I think not. Equivilant of David Vitter? Maybe, but then David Vitter's wife who had been so threatening and critical of Bill Clinton for his infidelity, then appeared beside him on national TV looking like a woman you'd find on any city street offering sexual relief to male passersby.
Watching Hardball and it's republican shill filling in for Chris Mathews and then watching the one of three journalist's I consider respectable and honest and hearing the same questions on Olbermann I heard on Hardball I offer an answer, and something just as shocking as the Enquierer's story on Edwards. Only I am not the one to pursue this I leave it for those better then I. More after the fold.
I Killed The Soldiers So Now Let's Finish Off The Rest of the Population
Wed Jul 23, 2008 at 07:41:06 AM PDT
This is a harsh title I know and it is designed to catch your eye, and hopefully your attention as well. We are all aware of the Bush/Cheney Mafia Administration and their lies, destruction of the Constitution, and of course destroying this country's military. In the fire storm of whining by the McSame camp of how the "press favors Obama" and his trip overseas, the media blowups over anything they can find to raise doubts about Obama's suitability to hold office, ole 43 and Trigger Finger Cheney are quietly in the background trying to undo the last safeguards for the American worker in their traditional manner of secrecy and "under the cover of darkness".

New Modern Day Medical and Psychological Term Dictionary
Sat Jul 12, 2008 at 10:38:07 AM PDT
In todays fast paced life we see new examples and names beening applied to individuals and organizations daily. Old definitions are not applicable to todays terminology, and many folks fall behind in the fast paced evolution of our English language. Older examples are how wghat was once "cool" evolved into "rad" or "radical". A 9 that used to be a number to be counted, has since in music been changed to mean a handgun. Promises and commitments made while pursuing elected office were mostly remembered at least for the first couple of years.
Medicine is in some ways been fairly constent in it's terminology as many of the medical terms are based in Latin, an ancient and dead language no longer spoken, even in Catholic Mass. However there appears to be a growing redefining of psychological and in some cases medical terms by our leaders, advisors and pundits. Below, after the fold I present a brief list that I will expand and terms change with updated definitions.
A Revised List of War Criminals
Mon Jun 30, 2008 at 06:45:29 PM PDT
I admit this weekend I haven't been available here at the Kos. I have an upper and lower respiratory track infection (in nonmedical terms a friggin bad summer cold) along with last night's gift of an ear ache (in other words I really can't hear my wife's honey do list). So if this brief diary has been published before my apologises and I will take it down.
Sunday I wrote about Seymour Hersh's article in the New Yorker and suggested that George Bush was an evangelical radical trying to spark Armagedon and the rapture. The evidence is there but, many perfer to deny reality in hopes it will fade away. It hasn't and I missed something very important.

Return Please To Your Core Values
Sat Jun 21, 2008 at 10:21:52 AM PDT
This entry is a crosspost from idealthoughts spot on Obama's website's blogs. I have been a strong, ardent supporter of Obama and for the time I will continue, but unless he can show he is a true candidate of change, which his recent support of the FISA compromise seems to contradict, he will as I state below lose my support. To my fellow Kossacks, the powers claimed by this administration are scary, and there are too many sheep who blindly follow anyone who promises safety. Obama had earned my vote, but as noted in the final paragraph of this entry, he can unearn it as well.

A Brief and Short Diary that asks an important

question. I have posted in several comments today and in the past but no one seems to want to answer it, or knows the answer so here goes. Keith maybe you could ask Jonathan Turley this question. Would love to hear his answer.
All are welcome to offer their answersafter the fold. With poll.
A Brief Note From a Father on Father's Day

Just a thought or two and some thanks for the priviledge and honor my family has given me in allowing me the title of father and husband.

Redemption
Sun Jun 08, 2008 at 08:42:30 AM PDT
Ok, I over slept yesterday then worked, then drank. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Today (thank you YouTube) I watched Hillary Clinton's concession speech and endorsement of Barack Obama. Had that speech (in a different format been given in Febuary, I truly wonder who the Democratic nominee would be today.
If there was ever redemption, yesterday saw it.
Communication
Mon May 26, 2008 at 07:55:09 AM PDT
This entry maybe considered late by some but in the interest of fairness, and to ensure I was not acting on gut alone I took several days to consider my response, to listen and relisten to Hillary Clinton's remarks before reaching a final judgement.
Well judgement day is here and.........
And You Thought you Heard It all About the Bush Administration
Fri May 23, 2008 at 12:51:37 PM PDT
While skimming a few of the little known, but growing independent news publications I came across this story in the Washington Independent about the failure of a small but promising biotech company that manufactured vaccines and was doing ground breaking work to develope an Anthrax vaccine. What makes this so special a story is that this company was headed by brilliant scientists who were working on an HIV/AIDS vaccine and had the braintrust to possibly succeed.
But in the words of that meglomaniac vice president we suffer from, Dick Cheney........."so?"
On Becoming a Person
Sun May 11, 2008 at 08:31:46 AM PDT
Today in the Washington Post there is a front page story aboutabout immigrant medical care in facilities designed to hold immigrants pending review of their immigration status. Not only is the story truly disgusting in it's description of how detainees are cared for, but it represents a problem of this country's healthcare system as a whole. The title of this diary is the title of Carl Rogers' famous book about humanistic psychology and how we should act and treat others.
The required brief disclosure here. Many here should be familiar with my comments and feelings about illegal immigrants. I do not share the views of many here that we should let these immigrants in. Here though I will probably join with most here in decrying the total inhumane treatment of these detainees, which is even less then the treatment afforded detainees at Gittmo. I also have in the past worked in Corrections over thirteen years and am a Registered Nurse.
We Have Failed
Fri May 02, 2008 at 11:49:02 PM PDT
This is the worst type of mood diary I have ever written, but it comes with a cost. I am still wiping the tears from my eyes because of a truth I saw tonight in a powerful movie which awoke memories of history that now seems to repeat itself again today. The only reason that history is repeating is because we have failed to act as a generation did 30 to 40 years ago and sacrifice a little. We are not the whole of the failure but we are a big part of it, and sadly I admit my involvement as well. We have written with powerful words our disgust, disdain and lack of support for the way this country is being run, but here we all fairly much think alike so it is a safe enviorment, albeit probably well monitored by those shadowy judges who know what is right for us.
I start this diary out with an apology to a long time diarist here whom I got into an exchange with a while back. I thought his wording wrong but I missed it's meaning as many have with the Wright sermon. I start this diary with an apology to One Pissed Off Liberal.
Breaking News: Lurita Doan Given Pink Slip
Wed Apr 30, 2008 at 04:43:55 AM PDT
As reported in Politico this morning the contraversial head of the GSA accused of violating the Hatch Act was forced to resign last night. The following is from the Politico's article and a copy of Doan's email announcing her resignation.
Political Cross Dressing

Do you remember the 90's when Bill Clinton was riding high in the oval office, the economy was booming, and the "socialist liberal Hillary Clinton, then the First Lady had suffered a terrible defeat in her attmpt to reform health care? Oh the rantings and ravings of Rush Limbaugh, William Kristol, Pat Buchanan and the rest on how she was Karl Marx and Lenin with a dusting of Mussolini for good measure trying socialize America. It was here she earned her bona fides. Everyone left of center thought she had been smeared, outragiously attacked and women's groups often howled that she should be America's first woman President, while the Newt Gingrichs screamed that that was her ultimate goal and oopenly raised alarm at her personal ambitions and virtually made had her nominated then.
Well a funny thing happened along the way to the forum........
Dueling Unions, Shades of Jimmy Hoffa
Tue Apr 15, 2008 at 09:44:29 AM PDT
If you are reading this diary look to the right colum where advertisements are and look at the two counter ads posted by the Service Employee International Union (SEIU) and the California Nurses Association (CNA). Both ads claim the other organization is unfair and not representing the interests of the members.
Let's try to shed a little light on this and I am not going to try to remain unbiased here, for I am a Registered Nurse in a profession I consider professional. I am not a member of either organization and never have been a member of either the CNA or SEIU, that at least covers full disclosure.
Obama/Clinton supporters wake up and grow up
Sun Apr 13, 2008 at 06:21:02 AM PDT
After reading TPM this morning and all the discussion over over Berkeley's Dean justification for keeping John Yoo on the faculty at the Law School, one writer pointed out a small point that all the attorneys their had missed, and the implications for this oversight reach out to us all and our future.
All of us need to step back and look at what we are saying/advocating here and on other web sites. The dangerous implications for the future of this country are to great and frankly, bruised egos and impassioned beliefs have no place in the voting booths when they cloud the reality of what's at stake here.
Let me first disclose that I am a strong Obama supporter, but not a blind supporter.
