What the Terrorists Want - Schneier on Terrorism (respected security dude)

Fri Sep 15, 2006 at 07:30:49 AM PDT

Bruce Schneier is a renowned Internet security guru, having written books on cryptography and network security.  Beyond his speaking schedule at major international conferences, universities, workshops and government sessions, he is the founder and CTO of Counterpane Security.  Counterpane is a managed-security firm that supports Internet security for large, global corporations and organizations, managing intrusions, Denial-of-Service attacks, etc. which require constant diligence from trained professionals.

I am a big fan of Schneier, having been involved in Internet security for a few years myself, and appreciate his candor and clear-headed speaking/writing style.

He posted a story today on his blog which completely bitch-slaps the current GOP "Fear Factor" campaign.  Some sample excerpts are below the fold, but do go and read the entire piece.  This article might be getting "Slashdotted" right now, so be patient.

Tell Schwarzenegger to Respond to O'Reilly

Tue Nov 15, 2005 at 11:51:55 AM PDT

It is apalling that the Governor of California openly supports a terrorist attack on one of its largest and most important cities.  With the Bill O'Reilly call for terrorists to attack San Francisco and it's Coit Tower, I expect, no, DEMAND that  the Governator take a stand against such hostility to his state citizenry. His silence on this matter is a slap in the face to all Californians.

Let the good Guv hear from you!

Harriet Miers Blog - hilarious

Thu Oct 06, 2005 at 05:22:06 AM PDT

I saw this last night, www.harrietmiers.blogspot.com.  Exceptional work, in such a short time - I can't figure out who put this up, but they deserve some serious attention.

I saw Lawnorder's diary (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/10/6/13934/9654),
but that one seems to think this excellent form of satire is really her blog.

Go look at it knowing that it's a fake, and you'll be LOL! OMG!

The ads seem to link to real businesses, though.
