Diary examines results of CPAC's Presidential Straw Poll as metaphor for the Conservatives' futile dream that three strands of American Conservative thought--social conservatives, fiscal conservative, and national security conservatives--can be molded into one platform.

Includes a brief discussion of the irony of Don Rumsfeld as winner of "Defender of Consitution" award.

Ends by asking if conservatives will realize the so-called three legs of the Conservative stool (as described by Rick Santorum) are mutually exclusive, and concludes co, conservatives are just stoopid.

A summary of 2010 Alaska Senate GOP candidate Joe Miller's legal action, attempting to block write-in victor Lisa Murkowski from being certified as the election winner. Analyzes Superior Court Judge William B. Carey's December 10th decision denying all of Mr. Miller's claims.

Note goes on to speculate why Mr. Miller brought his action, considering that Ms. Murkowski had an undisputed 2,000 vote lead. Relying on a December 3 editorial in the Washington Times by Mr. Miller, raises possibility that Mr. Miller has given up on Alaska, and is working as a stalking horse for Senator DeMint.

Concludes that Mr. Miller is not consciously working against the best interests of Alaskans--Mr. Miller is just stupid.

During a recent appearance on The O'Reilly Factor, Mr. O'Reilly asked Private Citizen Sarah Palin why so many people feel that Ms. Palin is a "threat," and are compelled to attack Ms. Palin personally. I suggest that Ms. Palin is attacked not because she poses a threat, but because attacking her is so easy. I also contrast Ms. Palin's political career and current efforts with those of Alabama Governor George Wallace, as Governor Wallace was portrayed in Hunter S. Thompson's Fear & Loathing on the Campaign Trail, 72.
