We have been splintered far too long, and it seems the gaps are growing at an exponential rate. An old mentor of mine has asked why is it suddenly important for Congress to work together? They weren't asked or may be not expected to collaborate during the past administration, so why the push? It would seem this is a growing problem, and a strange outcome for a country founded on the concept of team work. The founders came to this country for a new life. Whether it was by choice or by force, it is a fact they all worked together to make this a place called Home.

It is also true, if they had not worked together, this country would have never have obtained the status of World Power she now so desperately tries to keep. We are faced with trying to undo things these men and women worked hard to prevent. No one group is supposed to be above another, but those in power suffer from major superiority complexes. Our current president is embarking on a similar struggle, and his constant reminder that 'we are all in this together' seems a bit forced. Almost as if it is something he says over and over to convince even himself.

Our economy is a mess, and taxpayers are being expected to foot the bill. I have no problem paying may fair share, business or personal, but how do we know they won’t squander those funds too?

I don’t know about you, but I’m thouroughly disgusted with how things are turning out. Companies like Enron, WorldCom and others have been allowed to walk away from the havoc, some have not even got a slap on the wrist.

Why can’t the government require these individuals to payback all the money above their regular income? I don’t advocate taking from the rich and giving to the poor, but as a business owner I don’t get a bonus if the company is in financial trouble.

Thanks America! Your hard work has somewhat eased centuries of suffering. Those who did not support PRESIDENT BARACK HUSSIEN OBAMA are now charged with the task of reminding him to keep it real! Please know your voices were not silenced last night, but amplified. We have proven we are able to heal, and there is hope we can all work together to bring about change!

You have surpassed anything she could have ever dreamed for you! No one could have imagined when you introduced yourself to the national stage, that you would become the symbol for change.

Senator you hold within you all of America, from the darkest to the lightest, the poorest to the richest, and you bring hope to each and every one of us. I am proud to say my entire family finished voting over two weeks ago! We have spoken your name every where we go. Please take time to consider some important issues that have been swept under the rug.

Please consider an entire race of people that have been alienated for the sake of the White House!

Please consider an entire community he has abandoned, because they refused to be 'handled'.

John McCain has made yet another bid for the presidency and this time showed us he was willing to do anything to get it--including sell his soul in the worse way!

This fear is something I believe is shared by ALL of us to a certain degree. This campaign and the way it has turned in the last few weeks shows we may have learned nothing. A man who is most representative of the concept of America, a man who still to this day struggles with who he is because the best parts of himself that make up this country --- just can't seem to get along. How is it for him and countless other biracial people in this country? They spend their lives sitting on the fence looking for some acceptance from two communities neither from which they asked to be born. I've read and heard unfair criticism from both sides. "Barack Obama isn't black enough to represent the Black Community". Excuse me? Whatever happened to the good old Jim Crow unwritten "one-drop" rule? "White folks ain't gonna elect a black man for president! He should have been glad they 'let him' be senator!"

Another assassination plot?

America has already watched the murder of a President right before our eyes--TV no less, so how likely is it that we will see this again? Whether it be a President or a person trying to become a president, I doubt the Secret Service will ever allow their shame to be broadcast in that manner ever again.

I am not deaf, but I spend a lot of time in the Deaf Community. After reading and recommending a diary written by slinkerwink, I was left wondering how the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community has made informed decisions this election season. Is it fair for a candidate to expect a vote from a community they have virtually ignored? Deaf Nation has posted a video called Deaf Viewpoints: 2008 U.S. Presidential Elections* It could be viewed as a Deaf Presidential Debate. Two people who support Senator McCain and two people who support Senator Obama.

You must understand sign language to view the video, but some speech readers may be able to follow because it is very visual. I was glad to see there is a definite line drawn and Deaf people are really thinking for themselves, but are the McCain supporters really informed?

How much more do we have to take? Sarah Palin, self described maverick, has gone against her own running mate at least twice so far. When first asked if she supported the bombing of Pakistan she was all over it, while McCain shhed Obama and told him such things aren't said out loud! Today it's being reported that she has evoked the name of, the very missed, Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright. I do believe I heard John McCain say he didn't want that type of business in his campaign.

Are they scared?

Does America owe a debt to John McCain? Somewhere in his 72 years he has not been compensated enough for all that he has done. More than that since we haven't gotten it right, now we're supposed to hand over the reins so he can show us how its done.

The story of John McCain is defined by service and sacrifice in service to others and our country.

So what did he do between the military and politics? Nothing? I'm new to all of this so could someone please tell me what experience he has outside of Congress. What experience does he have about life? I'm sure being married to Cindy all of these years he has an extensive education in Wall Street. What does he know about Main Street? Does John McCain believe he is entitled to the presidency?
