Rudy Ray Moore, the self-proclaimed "Godfather of Rap" who influenced generations of rappers and comedians with his rhyming style, braggadocio and profanity-laced routines, has died. He was 81.

Moore, whose low-budget films were panned by critics in the 1970s but became cult classics decades later, died Sunday night in Toledo, Ohio, of complications from diabetes, his brother Gerald told the Associated Press.

Queen Bee and the girls are in mourning today. Willie Green could not be reached for comment.

By now, most of us have read in disbelief about Sarah Palin's incoherent non-response to one of the most fundamental, simple questions ANY job candidate is inevitably asked when interviewing for ANY job. (Indeed, just to illustrate this point, in the book "The 250 Most Likely Questions You'll Most Likely Be Asked," an interview preparation book aimed at job interview novices like graduating college students, in the opening paragraphs of the Preamble of the book, "Preparing for the Interview," the author emphasizes the importance of "consider[ing] your key skills" and "avoid[ing] cliches and generalities." Having "that confidence, that readiness?" Nope, I don't think this is what that author had in mind).

Remember six months ago? Not too long ago in calendar terms, yet an eternity in the world of politics. Particularly when it relates to the much-vaunted integrity and honor of John McCain. Six months ago, many still held the perception that, despite his many known faults and misguided policy stances, McCain possessed an inner integrity - at least relative to his GOP peers. Faint praise to be sure, but praise nonetheless.
