There's a new book coming out by a Stanford scholar who spent some time in whites-only exurbs, found friendliness but cluelessness about how segregated America is once again becoming. It's not my intention to hawk the book or even the writers' fine work, but I did want to pass along a link to the YouTube ad and particularly the responses to it.
In a nutshell, you see in the video the "But we're not racists" public face of the new segregation, and in the comments you see what these folks say when they don't have a camera in their faces. It's mind-blowing.
More and a YouTube link after the jump, with the over-the-top vile bagger responses that made even jaded old me blush.
Link and disclaimer below the fold.
UPDATE: the 'nailing' I referred to has less to do with the author's book as it has to do with the comments the YouTube video engendered and the juxtaposition of the two. Troutfishing's recc'd diary also made me think using the term 'bagger' so loosely is a mistake. Title fail, perhaps. I do encourage you to click through and read the comments if you're so inclined.
