John McCain lost one solid Republican voter tonight, my friend Jason from Michigan, all because of Palin's "nucular" pronunciation.

My phone rang well before the debate was over. If it were one of my other Republican friends, I would not have answered it. In fact, another has been trying to call me all night but I will not answer because I know he is going to say that he thought Palin did a good job.

Before I could say anything, I heard on the other line, "I can't vote."

Tim Russert is the only host of Meet the Presss that I've ever known. I started watching the Sunday morning shows during the run-up to and aftermath of the 2000 election.
