Having watched several lifetimes worth of ads for the election down here in Orlando the past eight or so months, there is something that I've noticed, which hasn't been talked about much.
The power of advertising, negative ads, etc are spoken about greatly, but John Kerry has been doing something that we haven't seen much of from a Presidential candidate, he does full length ads, himself.
How many of the KE04 ads have John Kerry speak himself throughout the entire spot? Many. This is a powerful tool and I believe that it is an aspect that has been missed by pundits those wonderful talking heads in examing how (President) Kerry has reached voters and built trust in them.
Today, yet again, he has an ad out with him doing the spot from beginning to end about the Iraq mess and weapons cache. I'm on the business end of the world, so advertising wise, it's a slam dunk with these spots being done by him. Are there any psychologists out there who can add some weight to this argument about the value of the candidate speaking himself?
Thanks and it was my first diary, so I'll work on improving them! :)
