Rep. Andy Biggs thinks he has something relevant and allegedly “funny" to say to the imaginary people he believes are the “Anti-American Left.” I think some of us deserve a chance to respond to his nonsense.
Writing for the conservative RedState publication, Biggs fumed about what he said were years of lies about Trump and his supporters – and wondered out loud if those who voted against the incoming president would grow to accept his electoral victory, or “get stuck in anger – the second stage of grief?”
“For some the stage of bargaining has begun already,” Biggs wrote Friday. “They are insisting that we, Trump and the MAGA movement, we who insist on the precepts of the Constitution and rule of law, treat our Leftists better than they ever treated Trump or us.”
The Arizona lawmaker continued his MAGA-inspired assessment by appearing to re-write history when it came to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol and special counsel probe on Russia during Trump’s first term.
“Who has been held accountable? None of the players,” Biggs wrote of the Russia investigation. “The anti-American Leftists want us to forget about their crimes and misdeeds, such as labeling the events of January 6, 2021, an insurrection, led by President Trump. Odd, isn’t it, that no one has been charged or convicted of insurrection in the Department of Justice’s largest manhunt in history.”
Biggs wasn’t done with his fierce defense of Trump and the MAGA movement – concluding his piece by calling for "accountability." But he first invoked the words of Rodney King, writing “the Left wants us all to 'just get along.'"
“But for political equilibrium to be restored in America, those who have done wrong, who have violated the law (i.e., the Congressional J6 Committee that suborned perjury, doctored evidence, and suppressed exculpatory evidence), must be held accountable,” he told readers. “That is the only way to restore the rule of law.”
An attorney by trade, Biggs added that the rule of law “prevents bullies from overwhelming the weak,” and floated the possibility “that there is some residual desire for justice on the Right.”
“Accountability might just help the anti-American Left finally come to acceptance, the final stage of grief,” he wrote.
First of all, let’s talk about this “Anti-American” bullshit.
Who does he think he’s talking to? We are Americans. The real difference is that we don’t just love the illusion of what America used to be like Pavlovian puppies, we love the potential and promise that it still has within. We don’t look at our history with Rose-colored glasses which excise the flaws and mistakes of our past, but instead, look back and learn from those errors in order to make the future better.
That’s not “Anti-American” — that's loving America enough to continue to try and save and improve it.

There’s a reason we call Trump a “criminal” — he’s been criminally convicted on credible charges of business fraud. He’s been adjudicated for defamation and sexual assault. He lost his charity due to malfeasance, and he lost “Trump University” because it was a scam.

Your picks on the Supreme Court completely ignored the 14th Amendment Insurrection clause and let Trump stay on the ballot. Your picks erased a Constitutional Right to Privacy and an Abortion by directly ignoring the 9th Amendment.

Individual rights belong to the people and the Constitution is not a laundry list of those rights, it is a limit on the power of the government to violate those rights.

Well, 25 Russians were indicted and 8 members of Trump’s entourage were indicted, arrested and convicted. 5 of them for lying under oath about communicating with Russia. Paul Manafort gave sensitive internal polling data to a GRU operative, who was on his payroll. Russia staged a sophisticated hacking and trolling operation that the Bipartisan Senate Report documented reached over 187 Million Americans on social media.
Don jr agreed with requests from a Russian lawyer with a GRU operative in tow to cut sanctions on Russia “if we come to power" in exchange for scandalous information about Hillary’s campaign. It just turned out the information was false.
Michael Flynn also suggested that Trump would cut sanctions against Russia when he asked Ambassador Kislyak not to respond to the additional sanctions for their hacking attack which had been introduced by Obama. He then lied about that conversation to the FBI.
Roger Stone coordinated and colluded with Russian hacker Guccifer 2.0 as well as with Wikileaks to discover what other emails they had stolen such as the Podesta emails. This information he shared with Trump as testified to by Rick Gates and Steve Bannon during his trial. The Trump campaign later contacted Stone to have him get Wikileaks to release the Podesta emails just 30 minutes after the WaPo released the Access Hollywood tapes.
That was a conspiracy to use the information illegally obtained by Russia to help his campaign. Robert Mueller didn’t submit a conspiracy charge because Manafort, Stone and Flynn kept lying about it and wouldn't testify until they were finally all pardoned by Trump. He only got away with it because they lied and stonewalled.
Trump also committed 10 instances of Obstruction of Justice which Bill Barr lied about.

As far as the claim that all of this Russia stuff was a false claim planted by the Steele Dossier — Trump’s own bodyguard Keith Schiller confirmed under oath that part of the primary allegation of that dossier was true.

Yes, it was an “Insurrection” because the goal was to deny the electoral college victory of Joe Biden, which he had earned.
This is laid out clearly in John Eastman’s 6-point plan to steal the election from Biden.
1. VP Pence, presiding over the joint session (or Senate Pro Tempore Grassley, if Pence recuses himself), begins to open and count the ballots, starting with Alabama (without conceding that the procedure, specified by the Electoral Count Act, of going through the States alphabetically is required).
2. When he gets to Arizona, he announces that he has multiple slates of electors, and so is going to defer decision on that until finishing the other States. This would be the first break with the procedure set out in the Act.
3. At the end, he announces that because of the ongoing disputes in the 7 States, there are no electors that can be deemed validly appointed in those States. That means the total number of “electors appointed” – the language of the 12th Amendment -- is 454. This reading of the 12th Amendment has also been advanced by Harvard Law Professor Laurence Tribe (here). A “majority of the electors appointed” would therefore be 228. There are at this point 232 votes for Trump, 222 votes for Biden. Pence then gavels President Trump as re-elected.
4. Howls, of course, from the Democrats, who now claim, contrary to Tribe’s prior position, that 270 is required. So Pence says, fine. Pursuant to the 12th Amendment, no candidate has achieved the necessary majority. That sends the matter to the House, where the “the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote . . . .” Republicans currently
control 26 of the state delegations, the bare majority needed to win that vote. President Trump is re-elected there as well.
5. One last piece. Assuming the Electoral Count Act process is followed and, upon getting the objections to the Arizona slates, the two houses break into their separate chambers, we should not allow the Electoral Count Act constraint on debate to control. That would mean that a prior legislature was determining the rules of the present one — a constitutional no-no (as Tribe has forcefully
argued). So someone – Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, etc. – should demand normal rules (which includes the filibuster). That creates a stalemate that would give the state legislatures more time to weigh in to formally support the alternate slate of electors, if they had not already done so.
6. The main thing here is that Pence should do this without asking for permission – either from a vote of the joint session or from the Court. Let the other side challenge his actions in court, where Tribe (who in 2001 conceded the President of the Senate might be in charge of counting the votes) and others who would press a lawsuit would have their past position -- that these are non-justiciable political questions – thrown back at them, to get the lawsuit dismissed. The fact is that the Constitution assigns this power to the Vice President as the ultimate arbiter. We should take all of our actions with that in mind.
This plan depended on Mike Pence violating the Electoral Count Act and taking it upon himself to make the critical decision. As you can see at the beginning it states that this role would fall to Senate Pro Tem Chuck Grassley if Pence was “recused.”
How would Pence — who had refused to go along with this plan — become “recused?” By Trump telling thousands of people they needed to “Go to the Capitol” right on the day and time that the electoral votes were being counted that they need to “Fight”, go “Fighting” and “Fight like Hell of your won’t have a Country anymore” (Repeating this 20 times) and that “Mike Pence has let us down.”
Yes, Trump did say “Peacefully” just once — because his speech writers put that in.
He made Pence the mob’s target — “Hang Mike Pence, Hang Mike Pence” — so that the Secret Service would remove him from the building, and they nearly did — except that Pence refused to leave because he knew what the plan was. With him gone, Grassley would have implemented that plan. Grassley would have stolen the election.

Seditious Conspiracy is a 20-year charge, Insurrection is only punishable up to 10 years.

A Washington, D.C., police officer has reportedly confirmed reports that then- President Donald Trump got into a physical altercation with Secret Service agents on Jan. 6 as Trump sought to go to the Capitol to lead the violent insurrection by his supporters.
The officer who was in the president’s motorcade has given his own account to the congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack, CNN reported.
The police account broadly corroborates the story told by White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, who testified under oath that fellow aides told her Trump angrily demanded to be taken to the Capitol and got physical with Secret Service agents when they refused his request.

CNN has obtained 2,319 text messages that former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows handed over to the January 6 committee that were sent and received between Election Day 2020 and President Joe Biden’s inauguration, including more than 150 on January 6.

Frankly, buddy, most of us are only in grief over the hellscape of damage and destruction that Trump has promised that he’ll bring to this country.
Tariffs and Mass Deportation which are mostly like to drive a new recession and inflation. Dismantling Climate Change provisions that will further erode the polar Ice Caps and lead to further increasing storms and droughts. Reducing regulations that protect us all from industrial accidents, waste and pollution. Gutting the Federal workforce who work to protect the American people. Increasing Christian-ist indoctrination into our public schools while LGBTQ persons are victimized and punished for daring to exist. Increased Racial strife and violence fostered by deliberate fearmongering and paranoia. Turning the DOJ and Homeland Security into his own vindictive private Gestapo.
We’re not thrilled all that is going to happen.
But, maybe, when it does happen it just might finally be the point where the scales are removed from MAGA eyes and they finally realize that Trump has been running a scam on them — Just like Trump University — and they’ve been played for fools and suckers.
