For those of you who read Daily Kos, you probably have seen in recent weeks, the laments of those who are looking for the Democratic Party to grow a spine and fight back. Starting with the forcing/quitting of Ohio Senate Candidate Paul Hackett from the Democratic Primary in favor of Rep. Sherrod Brown; whether you agreed with it, or not, it appears that when the Democrats have an opportunity to capitalize on the corruption emanting from the GOP, you would think they would know how to act on the opportunity when it's presented.

I'm hearing reports that Bush is now trying to say he was unaware of the approval of the Dubai Deal.

How can you be unaware of something like that, yet when challenged on it by Congress, you respond by threatening a veto, should Congress Critters actually put together a legislative deal to kill the selling of American Ports to the United Arab Emirates? Read More

I just received an email from a friend of mine who sent me the story about Rep. Cynthia McKinney's participation on the Katrina Panel, and the 71 page report she provided on the floor of the House today. You can read about it here:http://www.atlantaprogressivenews.com/....

What bothers me about this is the fact that when the Republicans formed a Congressional Panel to investigate the slow response of the Federal Government to Katrina's victim, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi called for the Democratic Caucus to boycott those hearings, citing that it was for partisan gain.

As I read SusanG's diary (excellent)and the following comments (over 200), I couldn't help but wonder how Mr. Whittington is feeling about all of this. I mean, the man wasn't doing anything except GETTING SHOT BY THE VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!

First of all, this guy has used his show to promote racial insensitivity of the highest order, and he uses elected officials like Harold Ford, Joe Biden and Lieberman to tote his foul water.

Now he's whining with the rest of the wingbots trying to tell African-Americans how we should celebrate the homegoing of Coretta Scott King, when the reality is, Imus would have been just as good for the assassination of Dr. King in Memphis back in 1968, if he'd had a rifle and wasn't too stoned on coke to fire straight.

Then he needs to resign his seat as Minority Leader. Talk is cheap; we learned that when John Kerry caved in back in 2004, instead of demanding a recount and an investigation into the shannigans in Ohio.

I'm going to spend a second day here on the Beast of Bentonville. If you want to know why the Democratic Party will continue to be the minority party in the country, look no further than the raft of Democratic operatives and elected representatives who do the bidding of Wal-Mart.
