It was.

The Republican campaign sunk into a Stalingrad-like war of attrition.

Stephen Colbert stepped up his guerrilla campaign.

Bill Gates called for higher taxes on the rich.

President Obama gave a stirring State of the Union address, only hours after ordering a daring commando raid and starting an anti-Bankster version of The Untouchables.

We tearfully accepted Gabby Gifford’s resignation.

Overflow swing state crowds cheered the President as GOP turnout plummeted.

The Wicked Witch of South West melted.

Romney was exposed as a tax cheat and clubbed by his opponents with Occupy Wall Street’s populism.

The recovery moved towards escape velocity and optimism sprung anew.

All the while, Mitt Romney self-destructed.

Yes, this really did happen.

This is story of those seven days; complete with never before seen images.

President Obama paid his respects today to the victims of the terrorist attack on New York City.

And the greatest city in the world responded with love and affection for their Commander and Chief.

100,000 Wisconsinites marched against the GOP's union busting scheme Saturday, braving falling snow and a bitter 17 degree temperature.

Hundreds of cities across the nations held simultaneous demonstrations in solidarity with their Badger brethren.

Madison police reported to the Gannett News Service that the crowd exceeded 100,000 in size, without a single arrest occurring at the rally.

Gannett also reported several hundred off duty police officers and deputies joined the protesters.

Security for the rally was provided by 700 off duty state troopers and marshals who volunteered their time.

A spokesperson for the Madison police department described the protesters as a "very civil group".

Imagine that:

100,000 protesters and not a single incident.

100,000 protesters and not a single racial epithet.

100,000 protesters and no one brought a gun.

100,000 protesters and not a misspelled sign.

Protesters as far as the eye could see.

Friday's protest was enormous -- Day and Night.

The State estimates 35,000 people alone were inside the Capitol rotunda. And judging from the photos of the simultaneous demonstration outside, the crowds on the Capitol grounds were just as big, if not bigger.

Together, the entire crowd had to be closer 70,000. And let's remember, it was literally freezing outside.

While the protest is receiving a decent amount of attention, the enormity of the crowd has not.

Yesterday, President Obama made an extraordinary pilgrimage -- he made an unannounced visit, walking the hallowed grounds, randomly meeting with gold star mothers, and consoling surviving comrades.

President Obama just received a thunderous reception in St. Louis, as he entered the stadium to throw out the first pitch of the 2009 All-Star Game.

Unlike last year, all the players are psyched about meeting the President. They even want Obama’s autograph on their copies of his book. When have you ever seen major league player purchase a political book and act giddy around a President? The announcer said, future Hall of Famers are in the dugout acting like 12 year olds kids. Even Red Sox hard-ass, Josh Beckett was snapping away with his camera.
