There appears to be a problem with the Domain Name System (DNS) that translates human readable web site names into the numbers that tell your computer where to find the site.
Just as you look up a telephone directory to find someone's phone number, there is an Internet "yellow Pages"-like directory that lists all the Internet domains alongside the real numeric address (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx).
To get to YouTube while the DNS gets fixed, go to:
http://208.65.153.251/
UPDATE:
Some people are reporting no problems with getting to www.YouTube.com
This may be because there are thousands of DNS copies, (your ISP probably has one) and not all may be affected. Also, depending on your browser settings, it may remember the YouTube address from looking it up earlier.
The problem has been confirmed worldwide as far as Europe, Australia and Asia. Assuming it's a simple DNS mistake, it should all be fine within 24-48 hours.
PLEASE: NO CONSPIRACY THEORIES, THIS JUST HAPPENS NOW & AGAIN
