Despite the government having released a report just yesterday that painted the claims by the entertainment industries of lost revenue as flat out lies; today they are trying to push the Obama administration to give them a Carte Blanche to destroy your freedoms.

We've mostly all seen the video presented today of the death of several Reuters Journalists in Iraq back in 2007. The coverup attempted by the US Government and the Military has been blown apart in this case. After nearly four years of requesting the video it was released not through the government or the military but through wikileaks who obtained and decrypted a version of the video the Government had thought remained classified.

As soon as they did this the CIA and United States Military was on to them. A series of tweets began last month on the Wikileaks twitter page last month, they were deleted soon after.

Over the past several hours a series of ads touting Blanche Lincoln as a "Independent" candidate and playing to right wing talking points has been running on Daily Kos.

Are we not all committed to supporting Halter? Are we not a community that supports progressive and liberals, not the extremely Conservative Lincoln?

High Fructose Corn Syrup is in nearly everything we eat. Thanks to the subsidies applied to corn allowing it to be sold for under the price of production it has been used for everything from cattle feed to sweetener.

But the dangers of High Fructose Corn Syrup have been mostly ignored while the so called "virtues" have gained more attention as a result of a series of propaganda commercials aired during such events as the Super Bowl.

All this despite studies finding correlations between obesity and HFCS, and reports documenting high levels of mercury within HFCS.

Today it was announced that a group of Princeton Researchers were able to conclusively demonstrate the weight gain caused by High Fructose Corn Syrup.

The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund announced back in 2008 that they would serve as special consultant in the case of Iowa v Handley.

Neil Gaiman came to the defense of Handley, who had been been arrested by the police because of magazines he ordered from Japan.

The material involved was not something that could be prosecuted as illegal if made or distributed within our country or individual states, but only across international or state lines. And no matter what it was depicting, the only charge that managed to stick was obscenity.

It was a cut and dry case really, obscenity charges could not stand up in court especially with so much public scrutiny on the case. But most likely influenced by the loss of his job, his sinking status in his community, and the effect the arrest had on his sick mother; Christopher Handley pleaded guilty to the charges less than a year ago.

It's been only a bit more then a year since I sat at a ballot booth, marking a box next to a name for the first time in my life. It was my first time voting in a election, and I was young and naive. The man I voted for had such a beautifl sounding name. It was Barack Hussein Obama. And I was proud.

As a American I was proud that a person with a name that carried that much baggage could have a chance in my America. As a Hispanic I was proud that a minority could have a chance at being elected. And as a Progressive I was proud that for the first time in more than a decade true progresivism was going to come to our White House.

As I sat that evening watching the results come in, with tears in my eyes as our new President accepted the mandate of the American People, I could not help but feel hopeful for our future.

Little did I know that barely a year later nearly all that hope would be gone.

Pat Robertsonmost infamousely stated that Haiti was cursed because of a pact with a Devil. He's said similiar things about New York after 911, and New Orleans after Katrina.

His comments mark a quite common line of though in Evangelical Christianity, that god still punishes people for their sins and natural disasters such as the one that occurred in Haiti are caused by god's Wrath.

I can not turn on the TV without a major network, CNN, MSNBC, Fox (I imagine), telling me how evil Tiger Woods is.

I'm shown anchors shaking their heads at the private sins of Tiger Woods. I'm shown anchors judging Tiger Woods as little gods.
I'm shown anchors in disbelief that anyone is still willing to have them represent their products.

I feel a bit sad, for what Tiger Woods did do in many ways was wrong.

And although it was every bit his decision to do those things, to lie to his wife, it was not his fault that he felt he NEEDED to do that.

Tiger Woods never should of married in the first place, at least not in the way he decided to. He should of never felt the pressure to subscribe to a social construct that he clearly was not comfortable with, but do to the dictatorship provided by the Moral Majority in this nation, he felt he needed to do so. He felt he needed to have a clean cut image.

Amanda Knox has now been tried and sentenced, 26 years in jail, 8 million dollars of fine, no conclusive evidence. Amanda Knox was guilty no matter what the evidence.

Because in Italy there is no justice, you are guilty until proven innocent.

The Twilight series has turned into a new giant of the film industry. With New Moon raking in more money on its opening day than The Dark Knight, despite receiving absolutely catastrophic reviews.

Writing a entire diary about the series would be pointless if all it was was the latest poorly written teenage fiction frezny. But it is not, the truth is it is far worse than that.

Stephanie Meyer, the so called auter of the Twilight Series (despite a obvious inability to write) is not your normal author. For Stephenie Meyer is a lifelong Mormon, and within her books are quite obvious overtones influenced strongly by her religion.

The Twilight series not only espouses unsafe ideas, it derides women, it is misogyny in its purest form...

I see outcry after outcry here about the current form of the health bill, and specifically the Stupak Amendment.

"64 Democrats sold out women's rights"
"*slap*slap*slap* Women get what they are given"

So on and so forth.

But we need to recognize the truth about the Stupak Amendment. Lets not use blind rhetoric to paint it in such broad brushstrokes.

Abortion is a serious issue. It's serious for both sides, we need to recognize as much as those who feel how its about their own rights and about their own freedom, about how it's about taking away a women's right to choose; for the other side it really is about human lives, they really DO believe that fetuses are human lives.

We can not afford to dehumanize either side with rhetoric in this important time.
