In everyone of them the Republicans find some stupid insignificant event and suddenly it CONSUMES the media — courtesy of the Republican Outrage Machine® . The Republicans control the message always — the few times the Republicans have lost the message is when Democrats have advanced — and yet like a cockroach that simply won’t die ..The Republican Outrage Machine® ALWAYS come back and regainsl the message .
This is latest “FAUX OUTRAGE” so transparent -- Supreme Court is about to repeal Roe Vs Wade Roberts had to set up a distraction. to start the Republican Outrage Machine® . When the dust settles and Roe Vs Wade is toast ..
I promise you will see or read some media pundit say “Well if Schumer had not be so mean to Kavanaugh and Gorsuch then maybe Roe Vs Wade would have survived.”
Do I have an answer? I think Democrats really need to have a messaging group to develop messaging and train it’s members in media and how to stay on message . There are a few members like Elizabeth Warren , Ted Lieu and AOC who understand how to fight Republican framing but most of the Democrats like Klobuchar, Schumer , and yes Biden .. are just overmatched and hurt more than help.
For example with Roe Vs Wade — Democrats the messaging always be “if Roe Vs Wade is overturned — Abortions will become illegal for the poor.” That is it .EVERY Democrat should repeat this every time they are asked about abortion.
The Media will respond . “No it will be illegal for ALL women “ . But everyone knows of course it won’t — the Wealthy will still have access to abortions .. suddenly you have reframed the abortions argument from Pro Life Vs Pro Choice .. to the reality that abortion will never be completely ended — and only the poor will be suffer if Roe Vs Wade is overturn.. then Republicans will NO LONGER HAVE THE MORAL CASE FOR ABORTION.
Anyway — We should be prepared for Roe Vs Wade to be gone. Roberts just gave the tell.
