of the community, and tend to get favors and tax subsidies from local governments.

Supporting local businesses supports the community.

When the people who do the real work in Park City hotels and kitchens get their paychecks, what do they do?

They go down to the Western Union.

And send their money out of the community.

        •  Thus my point (0+ / 0-)

Remittances from the employees at Stein Ericksen and Harry O's are Mexico's tenth largest source of revenue.

If they can take money out of the community, then so can anyone.

          •  Are you really trying to make that argument? (1+ / 0-)

Economic refugees (which is what "illegal" immigrants are) are somehow comparable to billionaire tax cheats, the basis of this comparison being that the economic refugees send a few pennies back to their sickeningly impoverished communities and the billionaires send hundreds of millions of dollars to their bankers in the Caymans?

            Really?  Really?

If that's the argument you're making -- some sort of ethical parity between "illegal" immigrants making ten bucks an hour and sending a few hundred a month back to their malnourished families and billionaires avoiding their civic duty to the society that made them rich beyond imagination -- I'd be happy to tear you a new one, rhetorically.

So is that the argument you're making?
