    about CFC usage. And yet, in the following decade, a tipping point was passed; once enough people got behind the phasing out of said chemicals, the Montreal Protocol was passed, effectively making CFCs a thing of the past.

    I honestly can't venture an exact guess as to when the same will happen for climate change; it may happen as soon as 2020, or not until 2050 when the world's oil is about to permanently run dry. But I can say that too many people who think about only the here and now when predicting the future are often caught by surprise; after all, nobody in the '40s predicted the success of Civil Rights....and few in the '60s and '70s thought that the Soviet Union's demise would come thru largely peaceful means and not by nuclear war....or that it would even happen at all according to some.
