    mere money. It's psychologically rooted, and I'm not just talking compensation. It's almost primal; any talk of regulation appears to be taken as an existential threat.

      Where are the people whose hair was on fire before the healthcare bill was voted on? They all went away. Moved on to other things. No more disruptive town hall meetings, no groups chaining themselves to the doors of the Department of Health and Human Services. If Roe v. Wade were overturned you can bet Planned Parenthood would be organizing, fund raising, authoring excoriating press releases to the media within 30 nanoseconds. They wouldn't fold up their tent to spend more time with their families. Because they are driven by a true mission, having to do with social justice.

      Once you see advocacy which subverts the requirement for rational thought, there are only two options. Insanity and vested interest. To me vested interest makes much more sense, especially in the absence of other signs of irrational behavior.
