First, I've gotten some very good information from Paul Craig Roberts.  He's one of that rare breed, former Republicans who have left that party, become quite dismayed with the whole political scene -- to wit: A Recovering Republican.  He was an Assistant Secretary of Treasury under Ronald Reagan, but his thinking now is much closer to Chris Hedges.  He has a regular blog (a couple of times a week) which is worth checking out.  Here are links to 2 article3s on Heath Care:

    health care into profits

snip:  “'On Oct. 1, the Obama administration started awarding bonus points to hospitals that spend the least on elderly patients.' The result will be fewer knee and hip replacements, angioplasty, bypass surgery, and cataract operations. These procedures transformed aging by allowing the elderly, who formerly languished in wheelchairs and nursing homes, to lead active lives."

While that is on elderly care, this is more general, but the trend is the same:

Everything I've read points in this direction.  Obama is not what he portrays himself to be.  In 2007, when everyone became so enamoured with him, I held back a bit on my enthusiasm.  I wanted to believe, but at 80 and being a many decade activist, I had to hold a bit in reserve.  I told my friends that much as I wanted to believe and trust him, I needed to wait to see if he would be able to break the Faustian deal he had had to make with the monied rulers of this society so they would even allow him to be nominated.  Yes, I'm that cynical.  To me, it became obvious early that he would not be able to do so, had no intention of doing so.

There is an article (recent) which I have been unable to find; it talks to the idea that Obama knows exactly what he is doing and is getting exactly what he wants.  It seems that way to me.  But he is also an expert at deflecting the cause of apparently failed policies onto others, onto the Republicans, or even onto us for not having gotten behind hinm sufficiently.  I'm not buying that.  One more link:

I hope you don't find this too depressing.  We have to do the best we can.  I've been afraid to write what I truly believe here at DK, because this community gives me support which I need.  But the 2nd Inauguration felt and looked like a funeral to me.  It was so dark, and that parade of black cadillacs inching along Pennsylvania Ave, seemed so grim.

But we must keep trying.  Gratitude to you for being able to face the truth.  The attacks on Occupy were a centrally  organized action to render Occupy useless.  It scared "them."

completely about not wanting to lose the support from here. I stayed quiet for a long time. But people have to know Obama is not on our side. When people pretend like he is well-intentioned they give him cover. Like you said Obama WANTS to cut Medicare and Social Security. He admits it. The only people who don't are his supporters. And at this point anyone who won't admit Obama wants to cut SS and Medicare will be complicit when he does it. Because without their cover he wouldn't be able too.

Thank you so much for the links. I'm reading an article from Black Agenda Report now about how Obama. It is from 2009 ‘Left’ Obamites Prefer Kool-Aid to Struggle | Black Agenda Report http://blackagendareport.com/...

I hope we can stay in touch:-) Thank you so much for taking the time to give me the links. I will definitely look at them.
