    are good approximations - within 5% for the first and within 2% for the second. Approximations like that let you do quick estimates of values without a calculator.

    A lot of measurements aren't accurate to 2 or 3 digits, or variability of materials or components is worse than 5%, so higher precision can be meaningless.

    But engineers also know the difference between an approximation and the actual value of pi, too.

    Modern revolutions have succeeded because of solidarity, not force.
