    basic attitudes may be passed on to the next generation even though what we usually think of as the "content" has changed.

    I can't imagine that your grandmother could really understand this statement:

    "Personally I don't "worship" any thing, and I don't really deal with the more classic God forms. I have however had interaction with beings of great love and peace, and I hold all of reality in great esteem."

    But I certainly agree that key things she taught you -- to have empathy, to seek spiritual relationship, to see sacredness in the universe around -- have continued to shape your thinking.  I hope your changing views didn't cause too much of a distance between you.
