  •  We did "Olympus Has Fallen" on Saturday (10+ / 0-)

amidst the Iron Man 3 throngs at the multiplex.  OHF was mostly violence porn and can best be described as Die Hard in the White House, with Gerard Butler playing the Bruce Willis character.  Not saying it wasn't fun if you like lots of bullets and violent death, but I found myself put off by some of the absurd premises the movie wanted me to accept.

I thought with Morgan Freeman, Dylan McDermott and Aaron Eckart in the film it would be quite good....violence porn is a great way to describe it.

There were a lot of laughable concepts in that movie; but the one that almost made me laugh out loud in the theater was when they raised the ultra modern, classified, hi tech weapon to the roof of the WH.  Presumably this thing was similar to the Aegis system and was laser/radar guided to fire at high speed incoming targets.  And it couldn't hit slow-moving helicopters on the first shot.  Ha.  Never mind that the floor of the WH couldn't hold the thing in the first place.

I realize this crap is "escapist", but it a little reality too much to ask?
