    •  I have two items of clothing, (0+ / 0-)

hand me downs from my dad when he was a boy.

One is a polo shirt, Ken doll size, and the other is a Levi's denim jacket, circa 1950.  The jacket really belongs in a museum.

    •  Also have my dad's WWII army jackets (0+ / 0-)

Somehow I wound up with my dad's two WWII army jackets. They must have been issued right at end as they are in pretty good shape. I remember my mom and dad used to wear them when we went camping; they bring back memories of my parents, younger then by far than I am now, cooking breakfast over a campfire, in the redwoods or at the beach, with tendrils of smoke curling in the early morning sunshine. From kids' point of view, camping trips were the best vacations ever, though I found out as a a grown-up how much less of a vacation it was for parents.
