    I will heed your warning. It will get pulled out, and the spot where it was growing will get covered with landscape fabric.

    Hard to get rid of? That would be the sandburs growing in our yard. They were very happy to outsurvive everything last year, in the heat and drought in the Sandhills. This year they're attempting to take over, with a vengeance.

    This July 4th weekend Glenn is going to rototill the front yard, then trench and install the sprinkler system. I'll smooth out the dirt and spread grass seed. We'll be watering several times a day at first, to get the seed going.  As soon as the grass is 3 inches tall, we'll mow back to 2 inches.

    Whee? I tell you, I don't like grass yards much. But it will set off the trees and hostas and ferns nicely, out front and to the west side of the house.
