Although it would have been nice to stay in Iowa for a little bit longer...

The trellis looks fantastic and everything has definitely grown since your last pic. Clematis are vigorous and tough plants so I'm not surprised at all that it's bouncing back just fine from its mishap. I'm still not seeing those weeds you keep mentioning though.

In person, it doesn't look quite as unruly (and the trellises aren't crooked).  I want to get some color in that upper bed as well, and the roses in the lower bed still need rehabilitating.  They look terrible this year, but with constant deterrents (including my husband's pee!), the deer are mostly leaving them alone.

How are your clients doing?  They must be so happy you're back!  Is the winery done? :)

I regularly weed whack two whole beds that i haven't been able to get to at all this year just to keep the weeds at ground level.  I'd link a picture, but it's just too mortifying. :)

I have weeds, but i also have magnolia flowers!  I didn't realize how fleeting they are.  Doesn't take more than a day or two before the blooms brown and slough.

Safe to assume i should snip the new shoots coming out of the base?

        How are your trees doing?
