Taking it to Congress gives him an out.   As CiC, he felt he needed to support the option for a "limited attack" to preserve credibility based on his ill-conceived "red line" remarks from a year ago.  As a scholar of the Constitution and a human being, he realized that if he were still Senator, he'd demand Congressional authorization and would probably vote against this counterproductive action.

He's got the Angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other.  Thank goodness he listened to the Angel.  Now, let's hope Congress stops the devil from winning the argument.

    •  But he hasn't ruled out attacking even (3+ / 0-)

President is nothing but a blood-thirsty barbarian who cannot wait to attack countries around the globe....just like FDR who stabbed Germany in the back by declaring war on them.....right?

I swear the hatred of the President on the left exceeds what the teaparty can conjure up.

He's proven that many times since 2008.  I can't begin to fathom what his values are, nor do I care about his motivation.

But when he gets advice and decides to take it, he seldom changes course, no matter if he's proven wrong.

          •  So, how (0+ / 0-)

many dead children by chemicals would it take for you to support action against the man who ordered it?

In your mind there is absolutely no way that the President is motivated by the slaughter of innocents by chemical weapons that have been banned by the international community for almost 100 years....?

Ok, you said that you do not care about his motivation.
His motivation is unimportant to you....in other words, no matter the reason, you will oppose whatever he decides to do?

            Like the Teaparty gang, eh?

are you willing to tolerate because Obama's insurance based health care plan still isn't going to cover them all or because his inability to create jobs leaves many of them homeless once they're diagnosed?  How many terminally ill cancer patients will have to suffer because of cuts to SNAP?

If Obama didn't want to see a bunch of people in Syria get killed, he should never have allowed the CIA to help stir up a civil war there.

    •  I'm hoping that, behind the scenes, the advisor (0+ / 0-)

who came up with the "red line" is sent off to some job far away from the Oval Office where she can't do any more damage.

Just for being a "monster", you know.
