Conservatives and corporatists are doing their damnedest to ensure that one day your children and grandchildren will cost just as little as pseudo-legal offshore Filipino labor to legally employ in any industry on the mainland.

      Here's one conceivable way:

-Sell parcels of commercial land to China
-Exclude them from U.S. sovereignity (border checkpoints at the gates, need a passport to enter)
-Chinese companies build sweatshops on them
-China sets lower minimum wage for their "outlying territories" than on the mainland
-Give U.S. workers Chinese work visas

If real unemployment reaches 50% and consumer debt is maxed out nationwide, I could seriously see a program like this being pushed as a solution (instead of any populist solution like protective tariffs and govt. make-work projects.)
