      A. You hold no particular animus towards LGBT citizens but to have any future in the Republican Party you can't answer in an honest thoughtful and sensitive way

      B.  you want to say "Well of COURSE any employer should be allowed to fire gays and lesbians because who wants to work with a bunch of PERVERTS???" but don't want to sound like a batshit crazy fool...

      Profiles in "courage" or "sensitivity"...NOT!!!!

      •  I suspect the former (4+ / 0-)

but it could be the latter with a slight alteration...

"Well of COURSE any employer should be allowed to fire anyone for any reason at any time because workers basically have no value."
        That would fit snyder better.

      •  That's the thing about Republican politicians (4+ / 0-)

They don't actually give a shit about anybody (aside from themselves).

Their real opinion about LGBT citizens is that they don't give a damn unless there's a fundraising/electorate angle.  And that's why they're in a bit of a pickle right now.

Bashing the gays plays well w/ the sex-obsessed puritans, but they're (literally) a dying breed.

The money people (the Koch's and CEO class) have largely moved on and the Santorum-types have outlived their usefulness.

There are just enough puritans still out there that the Repubs don't want to enrage them by openly declaring they don't give a shit about LGBT issues, but the money folks are sick of hearing it and don't want to bankroll any more bedsheet sniffing lunatics.

        So they dance...
