except for they would only be getting a chance,

at the half Billion dollar the project [Hudson Lights], still remaining

-- only if the fragile Tucker Dev financing fell though that week.

(and Yes, Silverstein originally bid for the Whole Project, but that one did not get approved.)

The group FLRA won the early bid on the other half of the project [The Modern] and they are completing it this year.

The FLRA group had a motive too, to see the Hudson Lights development fail too, as I tried to explain here (since their gravy-train project was ending):

What about that Redevelopment Financing teetering on the GW Bridge Traffic Gridlock?

But Tucker Dev Corp secured that financing on Sept 17, 2013 -- right after it became obvious the Traffic Mess, was not permanent.

      two counts.
      1) They're from Illinois.

      2) Their money is coming from Sovereign Santander, a bank that's been acquired by Spaniards. Wall Street is not used to having foreigners pick up the pieces of what they broke.
Keep in mind that most redevelopment projects in U.S. cities during the last forty years have failed to progress beyond the tearing down and planning stage because that's where the players got their steady income stream. Planning and scheming and getting nothing on the ground is the game they play, so they can start over again. Failure by design. It's everywhere you look. Bankruptcy is their friend. It's how they pick up bargains cheap. Just like the vultures. The predators and the scavengers work in tandem.

Take a look at the WTC site and the new buildings. Way past the teardown and planning stage.

        •  Because the planning was poor, the WTC (0+ / 0-)

is already having to be rebuilt to the tune of $50 million.

'Tis a boondoggle. I will, however, admit to having hated that project for a long time-- ever since those ugly towers were first proposed.
