  •  take away the tax-exempt status (0+ / 0-)

of Pepperdine University, which lent a faculty member and the law school's name to the first round of deceptive and malicious Yes-on-8 ads.

And not only that, Ken Starr's colleague, Doug Kmiec, re-telegraphed the threat of recall and judicial "impeachment" in yesterday's LA Times article. The justices mentioned academic colleagues of Starr, and the wink-wink, we-got-the-hint-about-the-impeachment-threat was palpable and sickening to watch.

Needless to say, there are no gay or even "gay-straight" student groups permitted on the Pepperdine campus. They are explicitly banned.

On what possible basis could you argue that Pepperdine should lose its tax-exempt status? There is nothing in the act of providing legal assistance to the Yes on 8, or the No on 8 side of this lawsuit that would ever put a tax-exempt institution in any trouble with the IRS.
