<title>(UPDATED) Please be smarter than the Freepers.</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/4/4/716470/--UPDATED-Please-be-smarter-than-the-Freepers</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;strong&#x3E;See end of diary for clarification of why Bank Holding Company status matters&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Really--that&#x27;s a pretty low bar.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;When we read extraordinary claims that President Obama is flagrantly violating the law, as claimed by an &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2009/4/4/716394/-Moyers-drops-bailout-bomb-on-Obama&#x22;&#x3E;egregious disgrace&#x3C;/a&#x3E; of a diary on the top of the Recommended List, we need to engage in critical thinking instead of letting our emotions take us for a fool&#x27;s ride.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;To be blunt: &#x26;nbsp;that diary &#x26;nbsp;would be a disgrace if it were posted at Redstate or Free Republic. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Its place here speaks poorly of not only the author, but those who got taken in despite the fact that they should know better.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;At least the loons at Red State don&#x27;t publish obviously false stupidity in order to tear their own people down. &#x26;nbsp;And we should hold ourselves to a much higher standard than that. &#x26;nbsp;Bush is no longer President.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;The sadly necessary demonstration of what is true and what is false below the fold.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Sensible Regulation For &#x22;Too Big To Fail&#x22; Companies.</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/3/25/712909/-Sensible-Regulation-For-Too-Big-To-Fail-Companies</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://squarestate.net/&#x22;&#x3E;Crossposted at Square State&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;There is a lot of talk about the way which we need to go in order to fix our current very serious problems in the financial sector and the economy in general. There can be very little doubt one of the major causes of our crisis is the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act in 1999. Now the Dog knows that some of his reader&#x26;rsquo;s eyes are going to glaze over when the old hound starts to talk about economic policy, but he promises not to make it too dry and boring. Besides, none of us can really have an informed opinion if we don&#x26;rsquo;t wade through this stuff.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
