<title>Refuting ridiculous rant of Michael &#x22;Mitt&#x22; Moore vs. bailout</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/12/3/669131/-Refuting-ridiculous-rant-of-Michael-Mitt-Moore-vs-bailout</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E; &#x26;nbsp; &#x26;nbsp; While &#x3C;del&#x3E;Mitt&#x3C;/del&#x3E; Michael Moore&#x27;s &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/12/3/74954/1532/390/668798&#x22;&#x3E;rant&#x3C;/a&#x3E; against helping out the Detroit big 3 auto firms (in the way that Wall Street big banks have been helped out for far larger amounts than $34 billion) is not without all value, it still comes across as overblown and silly.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E; &#x26;nbsp; &#x26;nbsp; Some points:&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;ol&#x3E;&#x3C;li value=&#x22;1&#x22;&#x3E; Moore made his career by hating on (with reason, perhaps) General Motors in his film &#x22;Roger and Me&#x22;, so he may not be without bias or rancor;&#x3C;/li&#x3E;&#x3C;/ol&#x3E;
&#x3C;ol&#x3E;&#x3C;li value=&#x22;2&#x22;&#x3E; He says it&#x27;s wrong to bash the Big 3 heads for flying on separate private jets to the congressional hearing, when some of the bank executives flew in on such planes as well. Instead, Moore should have said that Congress should&#x27;ve bashed the New York people on the plane issue too, rather than Moore giving a pass to the Big 3 execs for using those planes, ...a pass which is inconsistent with his &#x22;Blow up the Big 3&#x22; tone of the rest of his essay;&#x3C;/li&#x3E;&#x3C;/ol&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;(more on Moore)&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Saving the Big 3 for You and Me ...a message from Michael Moore</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/12/3/668798/-Saving-the-Big-3-for-You-and-Me-a-message-from-Michael-Moore</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Friends,&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;I drive an American car. It&#x27;s a Chrysler. That&#x27;s not an endorsement. It&#x27;s more like a cry for pity. &#x3C;em&#x3E;And now for a decades-old story, retold ad infinitum by tens of millions of Americans, a third of whom have had to desert their country to simply find a damn way to get to work in something that won&#x27;t break down&#x3C;/em&#x3E;:&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Bob Nardelli named CEO of Chrysler</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/8/6/367844/-Bob-Nardelli-named-CEO-of-Chrysler</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Just a quick diary here, but Bob Nardelli has been named the new CEO of Chrysler. If ever there was a bad appointment for a top US company, this is clearly it.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;The selection of Nardelli, who left Home Depot under a cloud related to complaints about his compensation, comes after German auto giant Daimler Chrysler on Friday completed a 7.4 billion-dollar sale of its US arm Chrysler to Cerberus, a large private equity firm.

<title>&#x22;Corporate Types&#x22;</title>

<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I have quite a few friends who have labored for years in the business world. Most in middle management. I&#x27;ve worked mainly for universities and philanthropies--in the not-for-profit world.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Overpaid Wingnut Home Depot CEO Forced Out </title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/1/3/286796/-Overpaid-Wingnut-Home-Depot-CEO-Forced-Out</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Bob Nardelli was the reason I won&#x27;t shop at Home Depot.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;He was Home Depot&#x27;s overpaid wingnut C.E.O. No doubt he was behind Home Depot&#x27;s giving the Swift Boat Liars 1 Million dollars to help them spread their slanders.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;em&#x3E;BOB NARDELLI GOT A 210 MILLION DOLLAR GOLDEN PARACHUTE!!!&#x3C;/em&#x3E;
&#x3C;br /&#x3E;People like Bob Nardelli are what&#x27;s wrong with with America&#x27;s political system, as well as it&#x27;s economic system. It is obsene that a person like this can have thousands of times more say in our country&#x27;s political course than the typical citizen has.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Robert L. Nardelli, the chief executive of Home Depot, who came under heavy criticism for his pay package and failure to lift the chain&#x26;rsquo;s stagnant stock price, has abruptly resigned, the company said today.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;In its statement, Home Depot said that Mr. Nardelli and the company&#x26;rsquo;s board &#x22;mutually agreed that Nardelli would leave his position.&#x22;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;He will receive about $210 million in compensation from the company, including the current value of retirement and other benefits he was already entitled to, the statement said.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
