Like the Romans, they just collect their tribute from the giants, and created many different levels in the way of owning and projecting the countries future in any manner they seem fit. Using the military sect, they're able to hide future technologies for a multitude of purposes. They know every upgrade of technology for the next 10 years. Their focus is to generally limit and forceably control the release of that information; thus making money for the insiders that know where the money is going to flow, so they can cash in on the "surprise". They use terms like "national security" to its absolute limit, abusing anything integral about it; such that they can manipulate the data industry; increase the "security" of the country by upping systems of the government like the FCC, so that anything that is considered borderline tyrannical is watered down over time to be perceived to be a mild inconvenience of privacy. Ways in which this helps them? They can spy in on wealthy avenues and receive secret financial information on any occasion. At the same time they use their power to limit interesting information to the mainstream press, tactically keeping major economic interest in their ball court, always ready to be taken advantage by their friends in the private sector. (which they all shadily are retreating to after their years of "good public work") There is no shame in becoming a traitor to the people in today's practice of political office. It's actually what their club is expected of, like a wholesale takeover of power. The thing is, the "American People" are so misinformed with the news they receive, with quarter lies, half lies, three quarter lies, that finding a genuine article of truth that holds no bias is like striking gold. They spend their time turning hypothetical right wing opinionators into full time news worthy leading edition reporters so that we're supposed to forget to ground ourselves with suppositions leading to valid standpoints. They trained themselves in the art of bullying tactics to speak over and illogically refute the interviewee insensitively, and often without any truth, often trying to prove their arguments, plucking from the trees of nonexistence in their art of winning a conversation. And because all this has become the standard in mainstream news, any chance for the common person to be led into what's really going on has been hopeless for most. These people show up on TV with their suits and ties, with smiles and titles. Men and women who are often corrupted by money, and certainly corrupted by the atmosphere of nonsense and trickery. One of your commentators said "It's easy for a man not to understand something when his salary depends on him not understanding it." That's because most people only have the time and patience to hear a fraction of what is reported. A good portion of these people are magnetic to alpha-male political jargon.. make it a point in their life to stand on the side of anti-immigration, pro-war, right wing christianity, pro-death penalty, anti-abortion. All things relative to Nazi type positions. Their brains are hard wired that way, even if they don't gain anything in life for supporting it. It is sad that so often the time all these harsh positions are all bundled and well packaged by a political party that stamps their approval on these stances... meanwhile the majority of them get fucked over on every social level under the sun, because it usually takes a violent bully that is also a trickster, with a fake smile and a few low blows as their ammunition in their left pocket to become a millionare seeking power. The party is eating itself away, because half of them are crooks, and the other half are being ripped off.. but they hang on by a thread because they hate the liberal agenda so much that they'd commit suicide before passing their chance to vote against them. I doubt the common man that calls himself a republican really loves the guy in a suit ripping them off. Problem with the liberals, The country in its foundation is weaved with vice, as there would be absolutely no way it would be here if it didn't do so with slavery and sophisticated ways of maneuvering people off their land, year after year, murdering people in the millions, so they can steal land and build up their countries treasury with slave money. Liberals give the appearance of being sympathetic, and have been doing it for centuries. They're often cool in their calculations of what is wrong with the government, but they will not talk about what the country really needs. To be rebuilt from scratch, and for the new government that replaces it to disown the government it used to be. There's a reason why Hypothetical Government isn't something any school in the United States isn't teaching now, or never were... and that's because they know that if people started building newer, sharper, hyper-modern and more evolved and improved theories for government; the United States, and other worldly governments would be viewed as the violent criminal states they actually are. Their glory would be overshadowed by their shame, and nobody would buy it, because the truth would be out there. Metaphorically, nobody is going to continue to buy food that is going to make them sick, when there is food that taste even better, and even contributes to a better health. We are living in the world of yesterday... under the threat of violence, there will never be a revolution, not with the kind of advanced weaponry they could use to maul their citizens. There was a time when they had to look over their shoulder and keep the people happy, or else be worried by the fear of a mob. No longer the truth, now they can kill you and everyone you know with precision, from space.. with a few strikes from a keyboard. We might might as well fall to our knees... If there is at least a good god, one thing is clear... we aren't being helped by them. About the only hope we have left is for a miracle, because doing anything in today's world is absolutely hopeless. I'm just enjoying the last days of freedom... I expect things to get much worse. It won't be too long before freedom of speech is that old law that provided us to use the internet to talk about what our problems are...   I think when the atmosphere changes, we'll all have to go underground and talk about a mass exodus to the nearest free civilization. Maybe at that time enough of us can concentrate on a new world and get actual things done. I can't say that I trust any government. There are places, like in Africa, where government is almost nonexistent, it might be the only place for the minds of tomorrow to join and plan for a better world. Everywhere else requires you to live in a neverending maze of poverty and to accept the states control over people ... Barry Lynn's <a href="http://zocalopublicsquare.org/thepublicsquare/2010/09/21/are-monopolies-destroying-america/politics/">book and lecture</a> from last year illustrated this phenomenon quite well. Lynn has also <a href="http://www.thenation.com/article/162317/how-america-could-collapse">pointed out</a> how multinational corporations have weakend America's resiliency by outsourcing productions lines across the globe: <blockquote>...According to Lynn’s groundbreaking book End of the Line, the essential problem is a basic shift in the way that American multinationals operate. In the 1980s, the competitive manufacturing threat from Japan led most large companies to eliminate waste in their production facilities. As a result, they stopped keeping spare parts on hand. Eventually, companies began outsourcing production itself, as profits came increasingly from extractive monopolistic power over an economic system. Walmart is an important example; its profits come from the power it can exert on its suppliers, telling them what to make and how to make it, while the company itself functions as a giant autocratic marketplace and trading operation. Increasingly, this is the model of success in our global economy. Boeing, Cisco, Apple—all of them rely on their power over an ecosystem of production facilities halfway around the world. They have become rent extractive profit-machines, which is a relatively new phenomenon. All of this turned giant American institutions against making things. This is why we rely on a British factory to make our flu vaccine, why global videotape production was knocked offline by a tsunami and why that same event slowed the gigantic auto industry. US corporate leaders now see the idea of making things as a cost of doing business, one best left to others. What has happened as a result is that much of the production for critical products and services that make our economy run is constructed by a patchwork global network of suppliers all over the world in unstable regions, over which we have very little control. An accident or political problem in any number of countries may deny us not just iPhones but food, medicine or critical machinery. </blockquote>     Now one would think that a country's ability to withstand supply chain shocks and possible economic collapse would be a top priority of political leadership, but what we have seen is actually just the opposite. Whenever that money comes back to the U.S., the companies have to pay taxes on it.     Think of it as a gigantic global IRA. Companies that put their profits in the offshore IRA can leave them there indefinitely with no tax consequence. Then, when they cash out, they pay the tax.     Only there’s a catch. In 2004, the corporate lobby got together and major employers like Cisco and Apple and GE begged congress to give them a “one-time” tax holiday, arguing that they would use the savings to create jobs. Congress, shamefully, relented, and a tax holiday was declared. Now companies paid about 5 percent in taxes, instead of 35-40 percent.     Money streamed back into America. But the companies did not use the savings to create jobs. Instead, they mostly just turned it into executive bonuses and ate the extra cash. Some of those companies promising waves of new hires have already committed to massive layoffs... </blockquote>     The law that says corporations do not have to pay taxes on profits overseas is one of the reason there has been a mass exodus of jobs out of the US to overseas locations, so that not only are labor costs lower but the profits made on that labor are not taxed. Taibbi continues... <blockquote>The madness that is the proposed tax repatriation holiday is continuing and gathering steam. More and more members of congress are coming out of the woodwork, scratching their chins in contemplative consideration as it were, pretending that they’ve just realized what a great day a corporate tax holiday would be – not that they’ve taken gazillions of dollars from the firms lobbying for it or anything.     The latest convert seems to be Nevada Democrat Shelley Berkley. Berkley’s plan is to offer a pseudo-holiday – not the full-fledged happy-ending massage the companies wanted (i.e. a reduction from 35 percent+ to 5.25 percent) but a mere ten-point shave:         Representative Shelley Berkley, a Nevada Democrat, is the latest lawmaker to consider legislation allowing multinational companies to send offshore profits to the U.S. at a reduced tax rate.         Her proposal, which was confirmed yesterday by Berkley’s communications director, David Cherry, would allow companies to return profits to the U.S. at a 25 percent tax rate, 10 percentage points below the maximum statutory rate. Most companies publicly supporting a holiday, such as Duke Energy Corp., have spoken favorably of the 5.25 percent rate that is being offered by Representative Kevin Brady, a Texas Republican.     One thing that people must understand about this tax repatriation business is that it’s a wholly bipartisan affair. It’s not solely the work of evil Republicans. This is a scheme that requires heavies in both parties to help ram the knotty, hard-to-sell legislation through. On the Democratic side, unsurprisingly, the main actor is going to be Chuck Schumer. John Kerry is also involved with this nastiness. Barbara Boxer led the 2004 effort and the failed 2009 campaign to get a holiday, and is rumored to be lurking somewhere in this business. ... </blockquote>     For another brief, easy-to-understand article on the corporation welfare scam, read <a href="http://www.lazytechguys.com/news/business/how-do-corporations-dodge-taxes/">"How Do Corporations Dodge Taxes"</a>.     As was <a href="http://www.alternet.org/story/151662/the_conservatives%27_alec_philosophy%3A_everything_related_to_government_should_be_demonized%2C_starved_or_privatized?page=entire">revealed recently</a>, the end game for corporations is to entirely privatize the government which is seen by corporations as a barrier towards the further exploitation and control of people and resources. Just to explain the similarities with America that are occurring in Europe, the country of Greece is presently being privatized because of its debt. The corporations are buying off the lands and even the islands because of their indebtedness. This is an ideal situation for more predatory behavior by the likes of the Koch brothers and others in America. The real enemy of the American citizen will be a society completely dominated and controlled by corporations with only the facade of a 'government' left over. It's already bad enough that many of the influential government posts are handed over to former corporate executives; it's no different than having the wolf guarding the hen house. This will produce an oligarchic state no less similar to the foreign, puppet governments that the United States presently supports. These foreign governmental leaders, like those in Haiti and Honduras, are themselves run by oligarchies and are backed by the United States and its policies, which are essentially the business interests of U.S. corporations. They easily can disrupt democratic reform and outlaw majority parties that do not follow the interests of the United States. It is obvious that the bullies in the United States are doing the same thing to the American people as has been done by proxy with puppet governments and their citizens.
