<title>Sorry Hillary, if you weren&#x27;t the establishment, more Democrats would be running against you</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/2/6/1480821/-Sorry-Hillary-you-ARE-the-establishment</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danielle_Allen&#x22;&#x3E;Danielle Allen&#x3C;/a&#x3E; writing at &#x3C;em&#x3E;The Washington Post&#x3C;/em&#x3E; has &#x3C;a href=&#x22;https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/sorry-hillary-you-are-the-establishment/2016/02/05/0aa7cf80-cc27-11e5-a7b2-5a2f824b02c9_story.html&#x22;&#x3E;a few words of advice for Hillary Clinton&#x3C;/a&#x3E; and her rejection of the establishment label in Thursday&#x2019;s debate:&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Don&#x2019;t use this line again: &#x201C;Senator Sanders is the only person who I think would characterize me, a woman running to be the first woman president, as exemplifying the establishment.&#x201D;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;SNIP&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;That candidate Clinton could deliver her line with a straight face goes to the heart of her trustworthiness problem.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;If the Clintons weren&#x2019;t the power apex of&#xA0;the Democratic establishment,&#xA0;we would have had more candidates on stage at the first Democratic debate.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;This was the major lesson I learned when I worked as a regional field organizer for the 2008 Obama campaign in California. The number of elected officials who considered themselves indebted to the Clintons, and therefore not free to endorse Obama, was staggering.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;SNIP&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Bernie Sanders is right that Clinton&#x2019;s long list of endorsements represents her muscle within the Democratic Party.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Her advice?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Here are the lines to use:&#xA0;&#x3C;em&#x3E;I have been privileged to serve this country in many ways over many years. As I have done so, I&#x2019;ve made it possible for women to take their place at the table of leadership. I will continue to open up politics to those who haven&#x2019;t previously had real opportunities to serve. Let&#x2019;s get all these fired-up young people running for office&#x3C;/em&#x3E;.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;

<title>Hillary: If Fighting For Women&#x27;s Rights &#x22;Is Playing The Gender Card, Deal Me In!&#x22;</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/1/10/1468201/-Hillary-If-Fighting-For-Women-s-Rights-Is-Playing-The-Gender-Card-Deal-Me-In</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Planned&#xA0;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/Planned-Parenthood-to-Endorse-Hillary-Clinton-in-New-Hampshire-364792161.html&#x22; target=&#x22;_blank&#x22;&#x3E;Parenthood held an event today in New Hampshire to officially endorse Hillary Clinton.&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#xA0;Hillary&#xA0;delivered a line that drew a rousing cheer from the crowd.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;It&#x27;s a classic and something we may be hearing on the campaign trail in the days to come. Video below.&#xA0;I transcribed the quote to the best of my ability. :)&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Enjoy!&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Republicans say I&#x27;m playing the gender card. Well, if fighting for equal pay, paid leave and Planned Parenthood&#xA0;is playing the gender card, deal me in!&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Carly Fiorina is already playing the &#x22;gender card&#x22;</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/5/5/1382711/-Carly-Fiorina-is-already-playing-the-gender-card</link>
<description>
&#x3C;p&#x3E;...and we&#x27;re only on Day 2 of her campaign.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Carly Fiorina thinks because she&#x27;s a woman, she&#x27;s Hillary&#x27;s biggest competitor. &#x26;nbsp;So, in an interview today, she gets asked what I&#x27;ve often heard men running for office get asked: &#x26;nbsp;if you don&#x2019;t win, are you interested in serving as vice president?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Not a &#x22;gotcha&#x22; question. &#x26;nbsp;A simple &#x22;if you don&#x27;t get the nod, if the person that does asks, would you be willing to take on the role of VP&#x22;&#x22;. &#x26;nbsp;Instead, she played the gender card. &#x26;nbsp;&#x201C;Would you ever ask a man running for president that question?&#x201D;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Yes Carly. &#x26;nbsp;Yes. &#x26;nbsp;And they &#x3C;strong&#x3E;HAVE&#x3C;/strong&#x3E; been asked. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;And this, after using that same line TWICE yesterday during &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://time.com/3845983/carly-fiorina-vice-president/&#x22;&#x3E;an interview with Katie Couric&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://techcrunch.com/2015/05/05/carly-fiorina-just-played-the-gender-card-all-wrong/&#x22;&#x3E;http://techcrunch.com/...&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Question Palin&#x27;s Experience and You&#x27;re a Chauvinist</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/9/4/586586/-Question-Palin-s-Experience-and-You-re-a-Chauvinist</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Remember when Senator Obama mentioned that the Republicans would try to scare us by saying he &#x22;looks different than the men on the dollar bills,&#x22; how the Republicans immediately accused Obama of &#x22;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/07/31/mccain-camp-obama-playing_n_116081.html&#x22;&#x3E;playing the race card&#x3C;/a&#x3E;?&#x22; It took them all of four days after announcing Sarah Palin as the Republican Vice Presidential nominee to play the gender card.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/News/PressReleases/Read.aspx?guid=f56496b5-a2c7-4a57-8a85-95393715635e&#x22;&#x3E;WSJ Opinion Piece: Ignore The Chauvinists. Palin Has Real Experience&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;So now, to question Palin&#x27;s experience is chauvinist. To question McCain&#x27;s policies disrespects a POW. Apparently we are not allowed to question anything with the Republican campaign. And they call Obama presumptuous?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>To Those Accusing Obama of Sexism, Put Up or STFU</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/5/21/519664/-To-Those-Accusing-Obama-of-Sexism-Put-Up-or-STFU</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;While many of us can easily point to some very specific instances of the Clinton campaign playing the race card or the victim card so as to either create divisions among the electorate or to garner sympathy votes for Hillary, I am hard pressed to find equal counter examples of expicit acts of sexism by Obama, or members of his campaign. That is not to say that there has been no sexism in this election cycle, but any such sexism has come from either corporate media, or by Republican bigots.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;So to those - such as Geraldine Ferraro - &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/19/us/politics/19women.html?_r=2&#x26;amp;pagewanted=1&#x26;amp;th&#x26;amp;emc=th&#x26;amp;oref=slogin&#x22;&#x3E;accusing&#x3C;/a&#x3E; Obama of sexism, and threatening not to vote for him in November out of spite, I say to them, put up or STFU. Offer specific evidence of these charges of bigotry, or back away from them.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Why Hillary is a bad example for my daughter</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/2/9/453263/-Why-Hillary-is-a-bad-example-for-my-daughter</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E; &#x26;nbsp;First, I&#x27;m not a Hillary hater, and though I won&#x27;t vote for her in the primary, I would vote for her over McCain. &#x26;nbsp;Further, I think Hillary is smart, and tough. &#x26;nbsp;Which is why it drives me absolutely insane that she plays the victim card so frequently. &#x26;nbsp;
&#x3C;br /&#x3E;My point is that Hillary could and should be running on her strengths only. &#x26;nbsp;But that isn&#x27;t happening. &#x26;nbsp;It started with the Philadelphia debate with the complaints about the &#x22;boy&#x27;s club&#x22; and the piling on. &#x26;nbsp;Come on -- Hillary is a great debater, she had a bad night. &#x26;nbsp;Why not just move on, and not blame it on gender. &#x26;nbsp;Then, the infamous crying incident, not itself a big deal, except it has been followed by a sympathy/victim incident every evening before a primary/caucus-- most recently the teary-eyed Yale reunion, and the overblown reaction to the MSNBC comment (a simple request for an apology would have been sufficient). &#x26;nbsp;Further, the reliance on Bill as an attack dog in Nevada and South Carolina also made her look weak.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E; &#x26;nbsp;Hillary doesn&#x27;t need us to feel sorry for her in order to suceed so I wish she&#x27;d stop playing the victim card. &#x26;nbsp;I certainly don&#x27;t want my daughter to think a woman can win political office only by garnering sympathy. &#x26;nbsp; &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I am so sick and tired of hearing about how this politician

<title>Choosing by Gender, how is this wrong?</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/11/18/412011/-Choosing-by-Gender-how-is-this-wrong</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I do not understand the hatred by many towards Hillary Clinton. I can understand some not wanting to vote for her who disagree with particular issues, but not the hatred. It seems too personal and I just don&#x27;t get where that level of hatred comes from.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;I think some must come from the barrage of conservative negativity info, opinions spewed continually towards women in general that has seeped in the MSM watchers mentality, by so many talking heads (particularly on Faux News) with the increase of exploitive portrayal of the &#x27;perfect woman eye-candy&#x27;; and the increase of the bible-thumping fundamentalist influence and reinforcement of a woman&#x27;s role according to the men who wrote the bible.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;And according to the following article the term of Feminist with younger people appears to be a negative thing. When did this happen?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Really - I have to ask, what the hell is going on with all the anger about piling on and playing the gender card. &#x26;nbsp;Both things are good, both work to our advantage. &#x26;nbsp;Up front I want to say that I am 100% behind Edwards right now. &#x26;nbsp;But if Hillary Clinton wins the nomination I an 100% behind her - I don&#x27;t want another four years of a madman - I&#x27;ve got children! &#x26;nbsp;That said, it is a really good thing Clinton is being attacked right now, as much as she can, as unfairly as she can. &#x26;nbsp;Because no matter how hard she is attacked in the primary, it is going to be a thousand times worse if she makes it to the general election. &#x26;nbsp;The media is being unfair to Clinton? &#x26;nbsp;I say Hallelujah and about time. &#x26;nbsp;I was terrified we were being sucker punched - that the media was going to crown Clinton the winner and just destroy her in the general. &#x26;nbsp;Thank God the viscious little darlings just couldn&#x27;t wait.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;How freaking dare Matthews accuse Hillary of playing the gender card? &#x26;nbsp; Who the hell has been playing the gender card, the race card and even the religion card for the last two hundred years if not white males like Matthews?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;I am sick of this garbage. I really am.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;More.......&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
