<title>Understanding the Primary Process and Making Predictions</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/4/22/1518814/-Understanding-the-Primary-Process-and-Making-Predictions</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I posted this on my FB page the other day and it occurs to me that it could do well here too.&#xA0;&#xA0; I&#x2019;ve read far too many comments that belie the ability to understand where the Democratic process is going when, in fact, there have been only minor surprises from Iowa on.

So an exercise for those interested in electoral analysis.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;1. Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders have a significant overlay in the states which they have won against the respective front-runners. Why?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;2. Name two factors that incline West Virginia and Kentucky toward Bernie, two factors which incline the states toward Hillary. What is the likely outcome in those two states?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;div&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;3. a. Why Oregon a slam dunk for Bernie?
b. Why is North Dakota a slam dunk for Bernie?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;4. Why is California a likely loss for Bernie, narrow win at best?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;5. CNN exit polls for the NY primary showed Hillary with only a 52-48 win. What is the most likely reason for exit polls being off? (And why all exit polls should be taken with a huge grain of salt until confirmed by actual votes.)&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Open book test. No proctoring needed.&#xA0; Should take three minutes.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;/div&#x3E;

<title>Bernie has Already Won and Everyone Knows It</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/11/5/1445506/-Bernie-has-Already-Won-and-Everyone-Knows-It</link>
<description>
&#x3C;p&#x3E;We&#x27;ve all known it for a couple of weeks now. &#x26;nbsp;Sure, no self respecting Clinton supporter is simply going to accept a loss before any votes have been cast, so, we all get to go through the motions of a primary as if it&#x27;s still a contest. &#x26;nbsp;But it&#x27;s over. &#x26;nbsp;Everyone who is being honest with themselves knows that Bernie has already won. &#x26;nbsp;He is going to be the nominee and He is very likely going to win the general and will be the next President.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Personally, I am happy about it. &#x26;nbsp;I think Bernie will be like 4-8 more years of Obama and I really couldn&#x27;t realistically ask for more. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;I am genuinely sorry for all of the passionate Clinton supporters who are already going through the stages of grief. &#x26;nbsp;Denial, anger, bargaining, depression... and hopefully long before the general... acceptance. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Clinton is as wonderful a candidate as anyone could put their heart and soul into supporting. &#x26;nbsp;I would be heart broken if I were supporting her in in this primary. &#x26;nbsp;I saw her on a show the other night and she&#x27;s so great that I almost wanted to support her even though I know it&#x27;s already done.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;But I do like Bernie and I look forward to seeing him kick the ass of whichever nutcase or tool the GOP nominate for the general election. &#x26;nbsp;I have my hopes set on Trump, because I would love for Bernie to win HUGE and Trump is a glass jaw just waiting to be smashed. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Fri Nov 06, 2015 at &#x26;nbsp;12:12 ET: I&#x27;m sorry if this diary hurts the feelings of Clinton supporters. &#x26;nbsp;You&#x27;re all wonderful people and you deserve all the credit in the world for supporting such a wonderful candidate. &#x26;nbsp;But the truth is that Bernie is going to be our nominee and while it&#x27;s okay to go through the stages of grief over this loss... it&#x27;s not okay to let that grief push you into desperate accusations of dishonesty (you all know what I am talking about). &#x26;nbsp;That is just going to burn bridges. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
