<title>Unpublished Letters: &#x26;#160;Three from the Climate Change files ...</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/9/5/899405/-Unpublished-Letters-160-Three-from-the-Climate-Change-files</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.warrensenders.com/journal/&#x22;&#x3E;WarrenS&#x3C;/a&#x3E; &#x3C;img align=&#x22;right&#x22; src=&#x22;http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2101/2141805638_63a6741eec_m.jpg&#x22; /&#x3E;has taken on an admirable resolution: to send a letter to the editor (LTE) (or, well, a major politician) every single day, on the critical issues of climate change and energy. &#x26;nbsp; &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://getenergysmartnow.com/2010/05/18/stealing-the-work-of-a-better-blogger-calling-it-my-own/&#x22;&#x3E;This discusses his approach&#x3C;/a&#x3E; and here is an &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://getenergysmartnow.com/2010/08/10/outrage-lib-climate-change-lte/&#x22;&#x3E;amusing &#x27;template&#x27; to for rapid letter writing&#x3C;/a&#x3E;.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Now, I have always written letters and even had many &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://getenergysmartnow.com/2007/01/20/washpost-published-my-lte-re-global-warming-skeptics/&#x22;&#x3E;published&#x3C;/a&#x3E; -- just not one every day. &#x26;nbsp;WarrenS inspires me to do better.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Many newspapers state that they will reject letters that have been published elsewhere, thus I have not been blogging letters ... perhaps that should change. Thus, below is what might be the first in an &#x22;unpublished letters&#x22; series publishing some of those LTEs that don&#x27;t get picked up by the editors.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Reprise diary: &#x26;#160;windchimes &#x26; my life</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/4/4/854103/-Reprise-diary-160-windchimes-my-life</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;This reprise diary is inspired by &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/4/4/853964/-ECSTASY:-Home-made-Instruments,-Home-made-Music!&#x22;&#x3E;WarrenS&#x3C;/a&#x3E;, whose diary I highly recommend. &#x26;nbsp;Please go show him some love.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;What follows is an essay I submitted last year for a college essay contest. &#x26;nbsp;I also diaried it here as The Essay That Did Not Win.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;I offer it again, because, well, I like it. &#x26;nbsp;I hope you do also.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Peace.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>My doctor doesn&#x27;t think I&#x27;m going to die today--Updated</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/2/5/693732/-My-doctor-doesn-t-think-I-m-going-to-die-today-Updated</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;em&#x3E;A couple of days ago, a thoughtful, fellow Kossack, &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/user/uid:79790&#x22;&#x3E;WarrenS&#x3C;/a&#x3E; asked a question in a comment on &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/2/2/22562/97575/295/692284&#x22;&#x3E;one of my diaries&#x3C;/a&#x3E;.&#x3C;/em&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;JohnnyRook,&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;How do you hold out hope when the news is this awful? Can you? I dread the time when I have to explain to my daughter just how badly the grownups screwed this up.
&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;em&#x3E;I didn&#x27;t answer the question at that time because I didn&#x27;t have the strength. Now, I&#x27;ve decided to try and answer it by reposting an updated version of a diary that I wrote in November of 2007.&#x3C;/em&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
