Twitter can’t verify everyone, so it’s up to the reader to determine whether or not to believe that account, for example @RoguePotusStaff. Love reading this Twitter timeline and I can only hope it is real, but I still haven’t retweeted or liked any of their posts. Twitter blew up on Monday, February 13th with Michael Flynn’s resignation and I was enjoying reading all the tweets. I then went to @GenMikeFlynn Twitter account took some screenshots and posted them and said “Flynn’ Twitter is still up. Not that popular. Wanted screen shots so he can’t delete before his trial. #FlynnResignation #FlynnResigns 1/2” and I repeated the same thing on my second tweet except “2/2” <figure class="image-captioned align-right"><img alt="tweet4.jpg" src="http://images.dailykos.com/images/366656/large/tweet4.jpg?1487186076" title="tweet4.jpg"> <figcaption>“Scapegoat” tweet Pelosi and Cummings referred to.</figcaption> </figure> There was no real activity on my tweet at until I woke up on February 14th and saw all the action. Then I saw Nancy Pelosi and Ellijah Cummings speak and mention the word “Scapegoat.” So, I thought the Twitter account was real. Whether it's how to stabilize a country in the middle-east after over-throwing it's government or realizing that making healthcare be affordable would make U.S. businesses be more competitive they just don't seem to able to plan ahead and see how things are going to play out in the future . I think this lack of foresight is about to manifest itself in the presidential campaign as Romney has already demonstrated a complete lack of forethought in his tax arrangements. He could have not used tax avoidance schemes or off-shore accounts and he would still be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Romney's pick for the VP position is likely to be someone who has hopes of having a political future in the GOP. Partly because Romney doesn't seem to like any of the other senior GOP nominee contenders (i.e. Newt or Santorum) but also because he needs someone to fire up the GOP base, which Romney must know is lacking in his campaign and it's only the younger candidates (Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Paul Ryan etc.) that meet this requirement. Whoever it is must know that any future career they aspire to have could be devastated if it emerged during the campaign that they were the VP pick of someone who had illegally dodged paying taxes. Even if Romney has done nothing actually illegal and instead has merely done something morally objectionable (e.g. skipped paying the full tithes to his church), then that revelation would still be harmful to any VP's future political career. So when Romney does make someone the offer of being his VP pick, the conversation is very likely to go like this: <blockquote>Romney: Do you want to be my vice-president nominee? Potential VP: What are you hiding in your taxes returns? Romney: I can't tell you that, if you find out what's in my tax returns you won't want to be my VP pick! Potential VP: Er, okay then - no I don't want to be your VP nominee</blockquote> Even when Romney has found someone either dull-witted or desperate enough to be his vice-president nominee, they are going to be put in an impossible position by the most obvious question every journalist will ask them: <blockquote>Journalist: Has Mitt Romney shown you what he's hiding in his tax returns?</blockquote> If the VP nominee answers "Yes, but there's nothing in there that should concern anyone" then the journalist has the obvious followup question of why is Romney willing to show you his tax returns but not the American people? If the VP nominee answers "No" then they would look like a puppet that doesn't have the full trust of the nominee or are so desperate for the VP position that they would take it without being trusted by the presidential candidate. Also, too, the Democrats can run another round of ads saying "Mitt Romney doesn't even want his VP to know his secret tax deals". So here's the prediction. Romney is still hoping to not reveal his tax returns but would be pressured into releasing them by any serious VP pick. So either: i) Willard will release his taxes about a week before a serious VP pick is announced. or ii) We are going to see a VP pick that makes the Sarah Palin pick look like a wise and sensible choice. As my girlfriend and I drove to CAFE STELLA on Colonial we noticed a sudden police barricade and re direction of traffic. We were close so we turned and parked and walked to the cafe. When I asked a cop next to the "bomb unit" truck and trailer he growled "vice president" .  So a while later after we got our amazing house roasted latte and coffee concoctions the motorcade came by on the way to nearby Maury High School apparently. When the VP limo came by Joe Biden leaned forward, looked out the window and waved at the few people on the street.  It was a genuine moment of recognition and I thought really cool of him.  Thank you Joe!  and Top of the mornin to ya! PS Hilary Clinton  and I assume Joe are speaking tonight in Norfolk at the NATO headquarters and a dinner on world affairs.  I tried to get tickets but they are all gone.   Info is here - <a href="http://www.hrwac.org/">http://www.hrwac.org/</a> rss@dailykos.com (JCNYMYAMI) account Hillary Clinton HillaryClinton Joe Biden JoeBiden Motorcade Norfolk VP _1080259 Tue, 03 Apr 2012 16:51:07 +0000 Closing your bank account? https://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/10/16/1026921/-Closing-your-bank-account I have seen that November 5th has been designated as the day to close out accounts at the big banks.  I used to work for a couple banks and have some suggestions on how to do this. 1 - Open a new account at whatever community bank or credit union you have chosen. 2 - If you have automatic deposits or bill payments, make arrangements to transfer them to the new account.  Your employer may need a couple weeks to get the change processed. 3 - Once your new account is established, check your balance on the old account, make allowances for any monthly fees the bank charges, and withdraw from an ATM (or write another check to the new account) whatever is left.  If you are unsure about the amount of the fees, leave less than $50 in the account. 4 - This is where YMMV.  One bank I worked for would close out your account over the phone if the balance was less than $50, and mail you a check.  Your bank may require you come into a branch to do so.  When I closed out a personal account at one bank, I scheduled bill payments that brought my balance to 0, then called and closed out the account over the phone. Either way, you can still aim to do this on November 5th. I hope this helps you make a smooth transition to a new bank or credit union.  Plan on choosing your new financial institution this week so you can be on schedule. What’s happening: On Sun. Aug. 14, liberal page administrators and bloggers in my network started spreading the word that they had been blocked from posting ANY content on ANY other wall for 15 days. No prior warning was given. The offenders are charged with posting links to news/opinion articles – <a href="http://www.addictinginfo.org/2011/08/13/republican-for-dummies-a-translation-guide-to-right-wing-talking-points/">such as this liberal’s guide to Republican talking points</a> – a small number of times to LIKE-MINDED pages with which they regularly interact. (Some reported making posts to as few as 4 other pages before being suspended – for 15 days – with no warning!) I’ve also been alerted that Facebook has revoked some administrator’s posting privileges for sharing links to their liberal Facebook page on the walls of other liberal pages. (<a href="http://www.addictinginfo.org/2011/08/15/hey-facebook-are-you-really-censoring-political-free-speech-in-america/">View the screenshot of the Facebook suspension message at my original post on AddictingInfo.Org.</a>) Facebook indicates these activists have been posting “spam and irrelevant” content. So, Facebook seems to be deciding for community pages what is spam or irrelevant before the actual page administrators are ever able to see – or re-share – the content. A check of Facebook’s community standards confirms that NONE of the blocked content or pages I’ve heard about have violated ANY of these rules (engaging in hate, violence, phishing, theft, spam for commercial purposes, etc.) Is it Facebook’s Fault? This isn’t the first time a Facebook-related free speech restraint has come up on my radar, and that’s why I’m not biding my time before I talk about this. People should know what’s going on so Facebook can isolate and rectify the errors that are causing unfair censorship. The previous red flag: A few weeks ago, I came across <a href="http://pleasecutthecrap.typepad.com/main/what-has-obama-done-since-january-20-2009.html">this webpage that catalogues Obama’s accomplishments (with citations)</a>. When  I went to share it on my wall  I was blocked from doing so. The explanation: The link had been reported as “abusive or spammy” content. No one else can post the above blog link to their Facebook wall either – even now as I write. Even though I and others contacted Facebook to appeal that block as a violation of political free speech, Facebook never responded or unblocked the link. Therefore, this list of Obama’s accomplishments seems to be permanently banned from Facebook – and for no good reason. Remember that just because you may not share a favorable view of Obama, that doesn’t mean the content should be censored. People have a right to information! Or is it Right-Wing Trolls? I am willing to give Facebook the benefit of the doubt. It’s entirely possible that Facebook’s overly sensitive spam trigger is a bug that Facebook will rectify pronto. Of course, another explanation has occurred to me. Right-wing trolls might be gaming the spam reporting feature in order to trigger Facebook into blocking populist information from spreading. I am talking about the same type of right-wing vandals that:     - place fake robocalls to disrupt voting,     - run spoiler candidates in Democratic primaries,     - <a href="http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2011/03/09/149408/koch-wikipedia-sock-puppet/">turn Wikipedia pages into propaganda</a>, and     - enact unconstitutional voter suppression laws that literally <a href="http://www.politifact.com/ohio/statements/2011/jul/04/nina-turner/state-sen-nina-turner-says-more-14000-voters-cast-/">prohibit people from learning where their correct voting location is</a>. I guess they don’t think they can win without playing dirty. And back to Facebook … Then I considered a more disturbing explanation after I read a Wall Street Journal article. What if the right amount of pressure has been put on employees of one of the world’s most powerful social networks to keep liberal free speech quiet? Mark Zuckerberg himself has no bones about saying that free speech is a negotiable. <a href="http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703789104576273242590724876.html">From the WSJ</a>:     <blockquote>“Maybe we will block content in some countries, but not others,” said Adam Conner, a Facebook spokesperson. “We are occasionally held in uncomfortable positions because now we’re allowing too much, maybe, free speech in countries that haven’t experienced it before.” </blockquote> I must ask: Is America now one of the countries where you’ve decided to block free speech content? Solutions Facebook: Please don’t start to enforce the notion that there is “too much free speech” in America. We are using your site as a message board, we’re in this to help inform others, there are thousands of liberal pages, and we all want to share content with each other. So, please:     - Undo the draconian 15-day posting suspensions for sharing news articles with the welcoming walls of like-minded community pages.     - Adopt a more lenient policy for how often users can post articles to other community pages before being labeled as a spammer.     - Consider investigating users who frequently report content as spam/abuse. Realistically, people should only rarely have the need to report spam/abuse on someone else’s community page.     - Set spam triggers for posting to community pages based on whether a significant number of page administrators label content as spam, not based on reports from random visitors to the page who might be gaming the system.     - Audit the content that Facebook employees ban. If, as you say, someone is reviewing the content I’ve linked to here to decide whether it meets community standards and then ruling to ban it, there’s a good case that they are doing so for political motives. Our country is at risk of losing the rights and dignities of its middle class. Don’t help the wealthy and powerful crush us on Facebook. Now that Citizens United has given corporations free speech (in the form of anonymous political donations), don’t limit the People’s First Amendment Rights.
