&#x3C;p&#x3E;Dave Cooper, Command Master Chief SEAL (Retired) for the Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU), has authored a threat assessment concluding TransCanada&#x2018;s Keystone XL tar sands pipeline is potentially at-risk of a terrorism attack.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;In the report, Cooper concluded operational security vulnerabilities for the pipeline have been overlooked by the U.S. government. Cooper &#x2014; &#x26;nbsp;most famous for overseeing the Abbottabad, Pakistan Osama Bin Laden raid as the commander of Navy SEAL Team Six &#x2014; wrote the report as a consultant for billionaire Tom Steyer&#x2018;s advocacy group NextGen Climate Action.&#x3C;br /&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;This evening, McClatchy and &#x3C;i&#x3E;The / / Intercept&#x27;s&#x3C;/i&#x3E; Dan Foomkin are reporting upon two major developments in the ongoing, knockdown-drag out pissing war between the Central Intelligence Agency and the top folks on Capitol Hill that are vested with the task of overseeing that monolithic government entity, the Senate Intelligence Committee.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Cut Off the NSA&#x2019;s Juice</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/1/27/1272836/-Cut-Off-the-NSA-s-Juice</link>
<description>
&#x3C;p&#x3E;The National Security Agency depends on huge computers that guzzle electricity in the service of the surveillance state. For the NSA&#x2019;s top executives, maintaining a vast flow of juice to keep Big Brother nourished is essential -- and any interference with that flow is unthinkable.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;But interference isn&#x2019;t unthinkable. And in fact, it may be doable.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Grassroots activists have begun to realize the potential to put the NSA on the defensive in nearly a dozen states where the agency is known to be running surveillance facilities, integral to its worldwide snoop operations.&#x3C;br /&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Your Town Can Demand Justice More Powerfully Than You</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/10/21/795652/-Your-Town-Can-Demand-Justice-More-Powerfully-Than-You</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Most city council members take oaths to defend the Constitution. &#x26;nbsp;The Constitution makes the rights and standards in its amendments and in international treaties the supreme law of the land. &#x26;nbsp;Our nation has a rich tradition of local governments lobbying state and national governments through the passage of resolutions. &#x26;nbsp;Under Clause 3, Rule XII, Section 819, of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives local governments may petition Congress. &#x26;nbsp;Under the First Amendment, we all can. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
